Do some more research you get more stem cells from embryonic fluid and the placenta than you do from the embryo meaning you don't have to murder babies to do it. There's a program now where you can have your babies placenta frozen and saved in case it's needed to treat a desease. I like this alot more than terminating a life

 • There is a huge difference between embryonic stem cells and the stem cells harvested from that source friend. The human placenta and umbilical cord blood are rich in hematopoietic progenitor and hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), which give rise to all the blood cell types. Blood cell types, not any cell type in the body like embryonic stem cells. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK53250/

 • Well as I said in the OP, that is an opinion to have that you are entitled to. I still feel you are missing my point though. Not all stem cells are the same. The stem cells you are talking about can only become blood cell types. I feel like you didn't even read my post, and arrogantly accuse me of not researching the topic.

You're not coming at this scientifically but selfishly. Here's what you're saying basically -man has a quarter of his brain damaged, let's kill someone and use that part of their brain to fix him Dude scientifically that babies alive and is conscious early on in development within the first few weeks actually. That's immoral or do you want us to be like the borg and whatever benifits the collective is the goal? That's exactly what the left is the borg

 • Did your dumb ass even read the post? Embryonic stem cells are harvested from a blastocyst, which is a stage 3-5 days after the egg is fertilized. It has no nervous system, no brain, and no sentience. It only consists of 50-100 cells, which practically fits on the head of a pin. Try reading before making yourself look like a complete moron. He even says he has his own ethical misgivings about the subject.

 • This makes it perfectly clear you did not read ops post at all if you did you would know he is mostly talking about early fertilized eggs that can be used for stem research and no the placenta is not a useful for stem research as a fetus

I've seen scientists speak about it and it has more stem cells and getting fertilized eggs that early would take invetro meaning it wouldn't be abortion and he didn't say that so wrong again bud

 • Now I remember why I muted you. The fact that I was gone for six months and in that time you haven't been hit by a bus is nothing short of miraculous.
