Upcoming changes to Silver Dust go live 11/8/2016

There has been some great feedback about the Silver Dust Economy. Here is a preview of what is coming.

We want to ensure that players who are completing Rise of Iron’s pinnacle challenges feel rewarded for their success. With this patch Trials, Wrath of the Machine, and Iron Lord Armor Ornaments will no longer require Silver Dust to apply. The Silver Dust requirement for applying Exotic Weapon Ornaments will remain, as the Silver Dust required for application is provided by the Radiant Treasure box.
Year 1 and Year 2 Iron Banner armor found in Dusty Iron Engrams and on activity completion of Iron Banner matches was incorrectly dismantling into Legendary Marks. With the patch, these items, when dismantled, will now yield 1 Silver Dust.
These changes are being made to promote a positive player experience as well as accommodate future changes and balances to the Eververse and Silver Dust economy which we will reveal in our winter release.[/quote]

I'm glad they prioritized the silver dust economy over everything else. Now I get to look good as I get killed by secondaries. Good job Bungie, you -blam!-ed up again.

Why do we need silver and silver dust? I think it would be cool if Eververse had her own faction were you can rep up by doing (well I can't really think of anything but you get it) were when you rank up you get a couple new emotes. I don't mind micro transactions, if someone wants to blow a $100 dollars to get a virtual mask then so be it. It would be much better if there was a way to earn emotes from Eververse through in-game activities like those events that randomly pop up when patrolling. Just some thoughts

2 RepliesAre people getting Silver and Silver Dust confused? I thought Silver is something you buy with your real money and Silver Dust is free in game for armor decoration. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Between the boxes I've got for free in game to this point, and the 15 I spent on silver I've got like 6 or 7 ornaments. I know it's luck, but it was on my side for once. Note : I don't think anyone should spend real cash in game, ever. The 15 I spent was a promotion from Sony.

These changes do not go nearly far enough to fix the miserable Silver Dust economy Bungie has created with the release of ROI. A 20% refund for a crap dusty engram roll? Still only allowing one Radiant Treasure to drop in game? FAH-KING Outrageous. Cozmo, seriously... DO YOU THINK BUNGIE IS DOING RIGHT BY ITS CUSTOMERS/COMMUNITY?
