Edit: These changes will go live with tomorrow's patch. The patch will be available at 9:30am PST.
There has been some great feedback about the Silver Dust Economy. Here is a preview of what is coming.
Some changes are coming to Eververse and you'll see these begin to roll out in small steps, beginning with an upcoming patch.
We are currently working on several changes to the Silver Dust economy to improve the player experience. We want to ensure that players who are completing Rise of Iron’s pinnacle challenges feel rewarded for their success. With this patch Trials, Wrath of the Machine, and Iron Lord Armor Ornaments will no longer require Silver Dust to apply. The Silver Dust requirement for applying Exotic Weapon Ornaments will remain, as the Silver Dust required for application is provided by the Radiant Treasure box.
Year 1 and Year 2 Iron Banner armor found in Dusty Iron Engrams and on activity completion of Iron Banner matches was incorrectly dismantling into Legendary Marks. With the patch, these items, when dismantled, will now yield 1 Silver Dust.
These changes are being made to promote a positive player experience as well as accommodate future changes and balances to the Eververse and Silver Dust economy which we will reveal in our winter release.
Would've been fine leaving this as they were, but this is cool I guess. Vanity is vanity. Some people have no self control. No wonder gambling sites were making so much money with skins in CSGO.

2 RepliesThis is Meant directly for Bungie. This won't do anything to fix the Silver Dust Economy. The Problem with Silver Dust isn't what we can use it for. The Problem is how Limited the Supply of it is. Some Easy ways to that are. Make Nightfalls Give a Set amount Per Character per Week. Make it so you can Get 3 Radiant Treasures per week, One on each character. Or my personal Favourite way. Make it a Random drop like Strange Coins but with a lower drop rate and also make it so Reputation rank ups give you 1 Silver Dust per Rank up. I came up with those in Seconds.

Thank god I hate to spend my money to get silver dust

4 RepliesEdited by Jewf_Goldblumkin: 10/26/2016 2:19:41 PMWho cares about silver dust? Increase skeleton key drop rates.
and nerf fusion rifles. :)
-
6 RepliesJust remove it. It's an awful system. I swear, just as I think Bungie couldn't do anything more wrong, you guys go all out to prove me wrong. Festival of the Lost is a shadow of what it was last year. Yet more items shut away behind the pay wall and locked by rng. Silver purchases were meant to fund these events... So why does it feel these events exist purely to make everyone buy more silver?

so bungie, i have question, and i know people do have this problem. my mom and dad are divorced. so i missed the bungie bounty. i know people have this problem too, there is over 7 million registered players. so im asking this on the behalf of many players, plz hold the bungie bounty 2 weeks for each console. i have a 50% chance of being with my parent that has an xbox one, and a lower chance of getting picked, so its like 1% for me and other people like me.so this would make sure that kids that suffer from family splitting will still be able to get this cool emblem

What do the old IB armor prices do? I'm confused since my iron engram won't decode
-
3 RepliesSpent $40 on silver like a dumbass and still didn't get the Flaming wolf mask. Safe to say I'll never be buying silver again.

More proof it seems microtransactons are the wrong way with Destiny. FotL seems to be a full blown dumpster fire at this point...from all the comments I've seen...

1 ReplyAny new missions coming or this is it with Destiny? Is Destiny 2 coming out the fall 2017? Or date has been push up to spring 2017?
-
139 RepliesI purchased 1100 silver and cashed in 5 radiant treasures. Being advised it was RNG based, I couldn't believe when I got 4 "not a toy" ornaments IN A ROW. Despite how ironic the ornament name is, money is a sensitive topic and you shouldn't treat it like a slot machine. We already have casinos for that. If I didn't had 1500+ hours in game I'd stop playing it. Remove the RNG from paid cosmetic items. I'm not buying a single microtransaction from this game ever again and encourage you do the same.

What about Iron Lord Ornaments they're impossible to get do something please

3 RepliesEdited by That ChibiNinja: 10/26/2016 5:58:13 PMWill the bad juju skins be put into the raidant treasure boxes after the holiday or is it an exclusive to the holiday. Ive pulled 4 of the hoodoom and just would like to have a chance to get some the other skins rather than gamble for 1 item that i cant seem to pull
-
2 RepliesI've never cared about micro transactions, it's just dumb that it's a gamble. If I wanted to spend money on A CHANCE for something good, I'll just go to vegas Down with the rng, just let me pick what I want, I'll gladly buy it
-
3 RepliesAs a Suggestion for items such as the Treasures Of The Lost or Radiant Treasures, they should always grant 1 Main Item, 1 Minor Item, and 10 Silver Dust. Then, give players the ability to buy Individual Items from these Boxes for Silver Dust, perhaps ~50 Silver Dust each. As it stands, players get 1 Free Radiant Treasure a week, so a player could earn 10 Silver Dust from the Box, and maybe an extra 5 if they dismantle their Minor Items for Silver Dust. At a total of 15, it would take 4 weeks of Free Radiant Treasures to be able to buy 1 Item from the Eververse Store, meaning the more items you want, the longer it will take you.
-
4 RepliesYou just gutted my purchase of radiant treasures to attain silver dust. I used that silver dust to ornament my iron lord armor. Now it doesn't require silver dust. Great move but dam if I don't feel like I just got -blam!-ed.
-
3 RepliesHow about... FIX THE CRUCIBLE!
-
Please stop giving money away for crap.
-
4 RepliesWhy can't we buy a set amount of silver dust with accumulated glimmer and make it more accessible to people who don't have time to get the boxes or money to buy boxes and just use a material that we have stored up for a while?
-
11 RepliesI like how everyone is complaining about the game, yet they're still playing the game.
-
3 RepliesWell here we go again, Bungie focusing on something in Destiny that no one wants or cares a -blam!- about, seems pretty normal by now. good work guys, keep not giving a shit about what your fans i.e. customers really want.
-
5 RepliesWhy is silver dust even in the game?
-
2 RepliesYeah, I gotta say the pay RNG sucks. If I am paying I just should be able to buy what I want. I really dig the "Ghost ghost" and dropped just $5 for basically 2 chances to get it. Bought 2 treasures, didn't get it. Won't spend another dime. Yes I knew it was be RNG and I actually had a slim chance of getting, but I would have gladly paid the $5 to buy it outright. I have the $$$. Also, if I knew I could get a specific mask, I would drop the coin. I hate the gambling of it. Done and out.

4 RepliesLook its your game and in no way am I buying silver under this current format but a friendly warning on your RNG packs that you pay for. You are dangerously close to crossing over to the definition of lottery and/or gambling which would make you quite vulnerable legally. Like I said its not my problem because I didn't waste money but that might not stop some of these other ragers.
