Upcoming changes to Silver Dust go live 11/8/2016

There has been some great feedback about the Silver Dust Economy. Here is a preview of what is coming.

Year 1 and Year 2 Iron Banner armor found in Dusty Iron Engrams and on activity completion of Iron Banner matches was incorrectly dismantling into Legendary Marks. With the patch, these items, when dismantled, will now yield 1 Silver Dust.
These changes are being made to promote a positive player experience as well as accommodate future changes and balances to the Eververse and Silver Dust economy which we will reveal in our winter release.[/quote]

2 RepliesWe know you are saving ornaments to use as eververse bait. It's obvious you are spreading out the release of them to trick people into spending more. A little bit on release of Roi, then for fotl, then the next "live event" that was supposed to be free (funded by eververse) but now is built to profit from us. You are ruining this game and your own reputation.

So when is this supposed patch coming? All 3 sets of gear and ornaments are now in play and still no change.

When are these changes actually being rolled out? I have my full set of Days of Iron armour, but now have no idea what to do regarding ornaments.

1 ReplyTell your bosses that you need to add a little silver to the Nightfall and maybe IB rewards. Not a lot, maybe 10-20. Why? If you give people a taste then they'll be more inclined to spend a little to get more. Sounds like how drug dealers, or really anyone facilitating an addiction, works doesn't it? You know why they do it? It works! "Oh I've earned 400 silver over the last [i]five months[/i], but the emote I want costs 500. Whatever, I'll just buy 500 silver. I can't wait anymore!" A lot of other games, including free to play games use this model. They do this to encourage players. Is it likely that you'll ever accrue enough for everything you want? No. But there's hope, and you'll damn sure get [i]something[/i] eventually. Kind of like ornaments and silver dust. It's not very likely you'll get a full set on your armor, but maybe... With silver there's no hope, no motivation, no reason to care really. You don't give any emotes away to whet our appetites (even a crappy "wassup" nod would be [i]something[/i]), you don't encourage buying silver, in short you won't tilt players the way you want. People who have the money to burn will do it regardless, but the people who are on the fence will tell you to pound sand. (I'm in this latter category by the way.) So, if you want to really get people involved in your micro transaction scheme, give them a little hope. Especially now when, according to most sources, none of these items are carrying over to Destiny 2. Why should we pay for anything now?

3 RepliesEdited by GANTZ: 10/27/2016 3:39:39 PMI had to spend 12000 silver just to get 1 weapon skin I wanted for zhalo supertcell, please change that too so one doesn't have to waste so much money and let us buy specifically what we want for silver dust if your random generator denies us the item we desire there could be a option to buy specific stuff for lets say 50 silver dust each , if you don't get stuff you want from random 10 boxes just dismantle all of it and get what you want after deciding to support you Bungie beyond the inital game cost one should not feel sad and ripped off which is exactly how I felt after wasting 10000 silver and not getting the zhalo skin , I only paid 2000 more just so the previous 10000 will not be wasted completely , but I think I wont buy silver in future because of my bad experience

The lag/cheaters in crucible has reached a World at War level. People are literally in God mode taking 4-5 people just to kill one player. Ever notice one team has ALL positive players but ONE. The other team has ALL negative players but one? Gee guess match making just put 1 guy with 5 shitty ones OR maybe the lag is so bad you can't kill the other team. Go figure

1 ReplyWeapon and armour ornaments were advertised heavily in the run up to the DLC, and they turned out to be almost un-acquirable without spending money. That isn't on. This sort of stuff happened in WoW to massive backlash, did they not mention it in the 'things to never do'? We are meant to become legend. Locking the coolest parts of armour to behind a practical, not theoretical, RNG cash wall is an awful practice, and surely should not have been advertised the way it was. IB should drop ornaments if you play at rank 5, and there should be more ways to get weapon ornaments IMO. One heroic strike, one weekly crucible like before, at least.

13 RepliesThe problem isn't microtransactions... Microtransactions are an awesome way to spend money on something you enjoy, to enhance the experience you're having, and to support a developer you'd like to see succeed. The problem is Destiny itself (I.e Bungie). Every piece of paid or unpaid content they add is COMPLETELY underwritten by microtransactions, even though the experiences they offer as a developer are REALLY sub par. Constant bugs, lag, the worst PVP ever seen by mankind are something the community now accepts as the norm. Look at what CD Project Red have accomplished with the witcher. 3 paid releases, and hours of FREE content... For what!?... Just to be known now, as one of the best games ever made. And it is. I've spent far more time on Destiny only to realise this game is garbage. It had soo much potential but it's been completely wasted by whoever the greedy scumbags pulling the strings are... Festival of the lost, SRL, Silver dust, ornaments... They're just a cash grab that is not giving you anywhere near what they money you're paying is worth... (I've spent hundreds on silver BTW, as I said, I'm not against microtransactions at all... I'm against shitty developers scamming people instead of providing a worthwhile experience)

Um got legendary marks twice for public events same character after switching characters. So not complaining. And got weasel error somehow. I have perfect internet. Not using wifi. Bungie bullshit i smell.
