Edit: These changes will go live with tomorrow's patch. The patch will be available at 9:30am PST.
There has been some great feedback about the Silver Dust Economy. Here is a preview of what is coming.
Some changes are coming to Eververse and you'll see these begin to roll out in small steps, beginning with an upcoming patch.
We are currently working on several changes to the Silver Dust economy to improve the player experience. We want to ensure that players who are completing Rise of Iron’s pinnacle challenges feel rewarded for their success. With this patch Trials, Wrath of the Machine, and Iron Lord Armor Ornaments will no longer require Silver Dust to apply. The Silver Dust requirement for applying Exotic Weapon Ornaments will remain, as the Silver Dust required for application is provided by the Radiant Treasure box.
Year 1 and Year 2 Iron Banner armor found in Dusty Iron Engrams and on activity completion of Iron Banner matches was incorrectly dismantling into Legendary Marks. With the patch, these items, when dismantled, will now yield 1 Silver Dust.
These changes are being made to promote a positive player experience as well as accommodate future changes and balances to the Eververse and Silver Dust economy which we will reveal in our winter release.
Holding these type of extras hostage from your player base and hiding behind a rng firewall is just not good ethics. It is cowardly and petty. If that's the legacy you wish to leave, all in the name of profitability, have at it. First rule to a successful business...give them what they paid for.

8 RepliesMeanwhile at bungie.. "So many valid complaints about the current state of the game, pvp connection being the utmost importance. Should we work on improving this? Nahhh! Let's look at micro currency and set up an in game proposal" Gg bungo, gg

Translation "We are making another insignificant and irrelevant change to the pay system, but you still have to buy silver to get what you want!!" -
2 RepliesMake silver actually obtainable within game instead of paying because some of the stuff you need to pay for looks cool but some of us dont want to waste our money on that type of stuff
im not saying this is a pay to win game
15 Replies..Really?.. ..i've been reading since Day 1, it's astonishing that the chorus of voices calling for updated strikes, raid modifiers and revised content is being ignored at the expense dust, ornaments and pretty lil gun skins.. ...all style no substance, perhaps the devs need a day at the mall to shake off the fashionista and get back to improving the important aspects of the game.. ..how about a broader rotation of Nightfall strikes.. ..Sunless Cell again huh~christ you guys are getting fat and lazy..

Its clear that you guys put more work into the micro transaction store than you do anywhere else. Do you guys have any shame left? Do you even care? The first installment of destiny is a pitiful example what happens when corporate greed gets in the way of product quality. You are, again, not listening to the community. Are you going to come out and say for a THIRD time that you havent been listening to the community....?

7 RepliesStop worrying about ducking silvers dust and fix your God awful pvp matchmaking system. More red bars than green online

1 Reply-blam!- Silver Dust. Make your PvP CBMM again.

4 Repliesdusty engrams should cost legendary marks. or at the very least. the item you get should be able to be rerolled to get the perks you want. in a way silver dust is real money. and there shouldn't be rng when we purchase things. thats a horrible way to do business forcing us to gamble and keep trying to get the roll we really want. thats low.

2 RepliesMy personal thoughts on what destiny 2 can be and how it can start as it is approaching to release. As a day one player I've seen all the changes to destiny and having recently watched the video on the early concept of destiny I see a lot of opportunity for an engaging story to be told. With VR coming up in the news and being introduced into the way of life, I think Destiny 2 can start off as your guardian maybe waking up from a VR-capsule being told, "you have completed your training, I hope you are ready for the real fight." Now let me explain why I think this might work and be cool. In the current world of destiny and how the story was told it is all good but I think it could be better. The opening story with the traveller and the darkness, the vex, and the Queen left me with so many questions and unfulfillment I'd always say, "that's it?" Also only being able to have limited access to parts of earth was a bit of a let down but the biggest thing was not seeing any animal life(aside from the occasional birds nest). I would like to believe that guardians still ate some meat to stay strong? I just wanted to be in a Amazon like forest seeing primates, snakes, tigers, painters and the sort and how destiny would interpret their evolution. The wolves in rise of iron was a nice touch but I would think they would be more savage like in the harsh conditions of alien invasion. Going back to my Destiny 2 theory, I think it'd be a nice relieving approach if destiny was only the beginning and the real fight starts now. This would be unveiling a huge world actually knowing what/who is the traveller, why should I care and who the true enemy is.

26 RepliesEververse has ruined this game... Microtransactions do not belong in a Bungie game.

Edited by Sanctified N7: 10/25/2016 11:37:47 AMI cannot wait for the day you force suckers into paying for their gear and items. 😂👍Besides the usual asking price of each "expansion".

2 RepliesOh i sense desperation. Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 has your panties in a bunch eh?
-
1 ReplyIdk how to say this but bring back primaries... Everyone i see in crucible is using a shotgun and i feel so lonely when in the kill feed im the only one using a handcannon. Remove bloom or reduce it so it aint such an issue on handcannons. Reasons why? 1. Handcannons are PRECISION weapons and accuracy should not be based on RnG. 2. There should not be RnG accuracy on any weapons, especially in a "shooter" game. 3. No one knows what a primary is anymore. So plz whatever BUNGIE employee sees this, plz try to get bloom reduced on handcannons especially and no more nerfs... If there is anymore nerfs then this game should not be called destiny anymore... It should be renamed NERF cuz the destiny game i know isnt this bad so plz have a buff for once and reduce bloom on handcannons plz.

Why gamble for useless tat when fir tbe same price you could probably buy titanfall 2 or battlefield?
-
Silver as a whole is too expensive, either give double the silver for the same price or just cut the price in half. $5!! For one emote is too outlandish and way overpriced. Or at least let us buy those things with silver dust or cover dust into silver. I believe this would be a fair and just improvement to the game

Still costs silver dust for trials gear

1 ReplyWhat about iron lord ornaments!? I've only gotten ONE since ROI dropped. Give us more chances at it. One box for crucible and one from perfected archon offering would be sweet.
-
13 RepliesWhy don't u just let us choose our ornaments so we don't waste money on a small chance at what we want and instead let us waste it on what we want

Tl ; dr. Here is the correct answer
NERF FUSION RIFLES!!!
I thought SRL did Eververse perfectly, giving you items you didn't have yet so that RNG was irrelevant if you spent enough money. I don't know who at Bungie decided to take a step backwards, but it was a horrible idea. I'm not buying any more "Random" packs from Eververse ever again. Emotes are fine, but getting the same cosmetic twice back to back is useless.
