Dont get me wrong: Hitler was a very horrible and despicable human being. That being said, it feels like that is all we ever hear about. Stalin and Mao killed way more people, but we dont really hear about that nearly as much as we hear about Hitler. In my opinion, this keeps us from understanding history in an objective way. Yes, Hitler was bad. But why? Where any of his social, political, or international actions/decisions good? If they were bad, why? If we just go: "Hitler bad. Hitler kill." It keeps us from seeing the bigger picture.

Why don't more people pick on the guy who waged war with Poseidon, and started attacking the ocean? I think he lost like 5 men, maybe.

Edited by uroskuori: 10/25/2016 6:23:30 PMBut what about King Leopold II ? He killed like 10 million Black dudes in the late 1800s and early 1900s. But you know why no one remembers his crimes? Some scholars believe that people at the time didnt care BECAUSE THE VICTIMS WERE "A BUNCH" of black people. And people nowadays cry "thats racist" and "youre racist" if they cant get a job they want.

For all the bad Hitler did, people like to conveniently overlook the good. He pulled a nation from deep depression and bankruptcy and turned it into a world power - a superpower, even. He pioneered the concept of the family vehicle and supported the idea that every family should have personal transportation. He was at the forefront of modern military technology (much of which is also now civilian technology) including the submarine, jet plane, and initial research into space flight. The only thing he did wrong was use the Jews as a scapegoat for all of Germany's problems, which in turn led to mass genocide and war crimes.

Apparently you can't use the word I tried to type so let's just call them neo-nutzies
-
It was the systematic way he went about it. They originally were having people shot individually but it was affecting his soldiers so they deliberately set about finding a "solution ", which were primarily the ovens. Why don't you read about it and not the neo -godwinslaw!- lit shit?
-
Its because the leftist media can use Hitler as a strawman to shut down fascist/third positionist movements while making leftism look more appealing.
-
It's because the people he targeted control the media
jk it's because the world had never seen such a mass hunt for people before him, it defined him
-
He is one of the worst probably due to the fact he caused the deaths of many more than just six million Jews as he was the biggest cause of world war 2. One of if not the biggest Wars ever.

People see Hitler as worse than other genocidal dictators not because he did worse things, but because he started a war across the west. Unlike Stalin (for example), Hitler began WW2, meaning that the west could use his actions as propoganda against him. This meant that everyone remembers how he did those terrible things, more so than other dictators that didn't. Think about it, who cares what some African warlord is doing to his people hundreds of miles away? People are more worried by the evil man conquering other countries close to home, killing them for their beliefs. Hitler is remembered as the worst because people saw him as the worst because of propoganda, and that has carried through the generations.

That's not what they teach if you study history. Well, it's not what they taught me anyway. I think it's the way Hitler targeted certain groups and the methods he used that were so utterly deplorable. I think it's pretty common knowledge that he was actually a good leader up to a point.

Edited by Necrobumb Ninja: 10/24/2016 1:58:29 AMYeah, but hitler attempted genocide and he killed other peoples people Moa and Stalin mainly killed their own people
-
Neither started the Second World War. They just kept to themselves while plotting for war.

An important difference between those Communist leaders and Hitler was their intentions. Hitler killed the jews because of an unbridled hatred strengthened with a "scientific" justification. The Communists killed those they believed to be traitors to the state or simply through abysmal policy decisions. They werent genocides aiming to exterminate a race.
-
No I don't think so. He should be put on such a high level of hate for what he did but so should others. That said, Stalin and Mao should be hated as well. The main difference is that these horrible people did horrible things to different nations. We were not as impacted by Stalin's tyranny as we were Hitler's. Hopefully the ninjas won't ban you. As much as I completely disagree with your Beliefs, I do enjoy your being here in offtopic

Very memorable quote from Augus in Asuras Wrath - 'The one who stands in the end is righteous'. Allied Forces won WW2 therefore Hitler is seen as one of history's most evil people. Theoretically how would he have been seen if the Axis Forces won WW2?
-
It's like killing someone in a game, teabagging their body then leaving the game.
-
You know, Hitler actually only killed one person: himself. All the rest were his "followers".

It's because whoever wins the war, retells the war. This is the only Krishnas prophet post i can consider thought provoking lmao

Ghenghis khan Pol pot Hideki tojo Leopold the second Stalin 23 million Mao Zedong a shit load more
-
According to popular history, Hitler is responsible for every single death that happened between 1939 and 1945, and is the only person ever to have committed genocide. He is pretty much the devil for people who don't believe in God.
-
He did a great job brining the German economy back to life but like captain Price says history is written by the victors

Edited by burritosenior: 10/23/2016 5:27:35 PMYou know who else thought Hitler wasn't the worst person in history? Hitler. This disturbing similarity makes me wonder. >.> <.<

The allies are responsible for WW2. The sanctions they placed on Germany and Austria after WW1 led to the raise of hitler.
