I think the concept has been a long time coming and we will benefit tremendously from Nintendo's development talent throwing their full weight behind one platform.
Cons? I think it's ugly and I'll probably never take the handheld out of the dock. Pretty much with every 3DS game I own I'd rather it have been on the Wii U just because I play my 3DS on the couch. I don't take my 3DS around with me. I have a phone for that.
There are still too many unknowns to make a final judgement. Price will be a major factor as will lineup of exclusives.
And I think flaunting Skyrim, a five year old game, on your new console is a testament to how pathetic third party support for Nintendo consoles is and will continue to be. I remember them doing that with the Wii U's announcement. It just reinforces the worry people have that this will be a Nintendo machine and that you'll still need an Xbox or Playstation.

That's an interesting response. I think when it comes to Nintendo products, everyone is different. For example, I haven't had a Nintendo console since the N64. However, I usually keep up on the handhelds and still play my 3DS often. I also play emulators on my phone (Note 3) and the screen size and quality difference is markedly noticeable. So I look at the Switch more from a handheld point of view. I love that the screen is bigger and prettier. I'm willing to bet that if I were to get it, I would rarely play while docked on my TV. That's what the other consoles are for, IMO.

I think you're more in the minority on that. Smart phones have slaughtered the handheld gaming market. Even Nintendo, the final holdout, is beginning to transition to small mobile games.
