Sorry most hated item in the game for me with the forced paid gamble box for it. Make a blue version this year I can upgrade with glue and I'll support
English
-
Actually, i didnt get mine from a paid box....dont think so.
-
Then you got it from the free one. It was only available in the legendary boxes.
-
Yep. and its beed sitting in the vault ever since. What a waste. Those uglyyyyyy racing masks had no such issues.(hunters masks were okay).

Edited by Kone19ps: 10/20/2016 2:42:49 PMFestival of the lost was when they first added microtransactions. It was cosmetic only. Srl they tested the waters of pay to progress and it failed miserably because no one would pay $10. At least so few the live team fired two people. Like I said I'd be for light added, but so long as gamble boxes lock content I can't support the system at all. The skull doesn't even show willingness to support. It's luck
Srl they tested the waters of pay to progress and it failed miserably because no one would pay $10.
What? are you high? What did they sell that was "Pay to progress"?
-
Max light helmets and class items
-
you didn't pay for those, you got them from completing races. The only things you bought were sparrows, horns, and the record book that had an emblem, shader, and 0 light armor.
-
Then pay to progress by giving armor and rewards you could earn in game. Either way it's pay to progress. Not pay to win. Rep boosts were when they committed to the pay to progress model.
-
but you didn't have to pay to play sparrow races. it was a free event.
-
Pay to play and pay to progress is different. Pay to progress reduces grind.
-
but you dont pay in the first place. SRL was a free event. No money was needed to in the first place how can it be PAY to progress if you dont pay.
-
$10 book was pay to progress
-
The only thing the book gave was emblems, shader, and 0 light armor. how is that progress.
-
You earn rewards faster than you would playing normally. You pay to progress/reduce the grind
-
you didn't earn rewards faster at all. did you even play SRL?
-
Yes. The book is faster than hoping for rng rewards. What's your point here? If you paid for the book you earned srl rewards faster and more reliably. It's pretty cut and dry.
-
I payed for the book and the armor given in the book was completely different than the armor dropped in SRL, so not pay to progress considering how it also dropped at 3 light, fact of the matter is SRL had infusable armor while Festival didn't. Most of us just want to use our flaming masks instead of looking at them wondering if they will ever be put on again.
-
We resolved it. It would have been pay to progress if the quests didn't reward gear. I'm for the mask kiosk and light. I just can't support microtransactions with gamble boxes from the skull. If there is a blue version this year then it would be fine, but it's probably paid gamble boxes only again.
-
Ah I didn't see the rest of the convo my bad lol I doubt there will be a blue version this year but would be nice!
-
I ask, "what did they sell to make it pay to progress" you said "Max light helmets and class items" They never sold MAX light helmets and class items Now your saying its pay to progress because it was "Pay to earn cosmetics". I don't get what you are trying to say at all. nothing you have said has made any sense.
-
Edited by Kone19ps: 10/20/2016 9:32:33 PMNo I conceded that they didn't sell the max light but they did sell cosmetic items that are obtainable in game. By purchasing the book you shortened the time to get those items and guaranteed them rather than rng. So someone who bought the book earned the gear faster and more reliably. That's pay to progress. Light level is not the only measure of progress. If purchasing anything reduces the time you would need to invest in game. It's pay to progress. Just not as bad a rep boosters. The armor gives you an advantage in srl as well. If you couldn't earn the armor in game it would have been pay to win
-
The stuff in the book was only obtainable from the book.
-
They are different from the no light boots and arms I got from playing? Either way their perks help in srl so there is your progression help. That's actually touching on pay to win and definitely would be if the mode didn't drop armor.
-
SRL had a quest that gave the gear with the same perks the armor from the books had. The book required you to do more than the quest itself did.

Edited by Kone19ps: 10/21/2016 12:43:09 AMThe quests didn't give everything. I finished them but never got a chest piece or the transfer system ate it at some point
