Exotic engrams (and Archons Forge) capped at 394 light level?
O.K., finally reached 394 by getting heroic strike chest loot. And I have finally seen others with LL like 396 so this is not a bug. Exotics seem to decrypt more often with only one light level above the current level if not at the same level.

So far my approach to reach 400LL is going well, especially by using my exo engrams I have farmed before the update. However I am experiencing something I would consider a bug as it seems too non-RNG related.
At the moment I am 393LL, all spots except for special and boots are 394, special and boots are 393. So far I have opened many exo engrams for gauntlets, primary, special, heavy, everything. So far I have only been able to open them on my current 393LL, if I got lucky they opened as 394.
Even loot in the Archons Forge that is supposed to drop up to (yes, I know what that means) 400LL like a ghost, is only dropping with 394LL.
For the exo engrams I guessed they might not open up higher as my ghost was low LL but this is happening even after all other except for special and boots are now 394 already.
This just seems too constant to be just bad luck with the RNG.

1 ReplyLikely a lower chance of things decrypting above your LL after reaching 390. The same thing was done once you reached 350 before HM dropped for WotM.

1 ReplyYep, it's all correct just a smaller chance of getting higher light level items over 390. Just keep going and if you're not being rewarded for a while then you will be in for a surprise when suddenly you get 399-400 drop. Happened to me few times over the last few days, I am 397, not haven't finished the raid yet, Just farming exotics and archon forge for ghosts, artefacts and class items. :D

RNG. I got up to 392 and opened 5-6 exotics,all at 390 level.

I was doing Archons Forge yesterday with a friend and he managed to get a 400 Artifact, 400 Ghost and 399 Bond. It took him a while to get it though... we were farming for about 2 hours. Guessing it is possible, but the chance of getting higher light from it is quite low?

Had plenty of 400 drops from archons forge (3x ghost, 3x artefact, probs five class items) as well as exotic engrams decrypting at 400 light. No issues just choose wisely when to use them
