Additionally or expanding... Even though the Iron Lords had sought Siva to "Rebuild" what had already been lost (to me meaning civilization or home), Ol' Raspy already knew the bunker they were entering was the weaponized version and didn't want them getting their hands on it (because he doesn't trust the traveler and hence guardians with his light).
What I'm more confused about is why so many died during this conflict instead of Rasputin locking it away or reactivating the fail safes to make it unusable. You can clearly see that they (Iron Lords) push a button to close the door and the door seam gets fused with an explosion. If Rasputin was in control of Siva and had it kill the guardians... could he not have controlled them to close the bunker and seal the door since... you know... the nano bots can do ANYTHING. For that matter he could have had them literally fight each other, give them a terminal program and then destroy any means for them to be reprogrammed, or even had them boar to the center of the earth.. or fly off into a volcano. Really there are so many way to program these things that can do or be ANYTHING... that would lead them to self destruct... I can't see why not one was looked at. Rasputin just HATED the Iron Lords for what ever reason. Maybe Saladin is lying and they knew it was weaponized and would fight to any length to get it.
Also, why would Rasputin allow the "Fallen" to take control when they have been invading and fighting for the same "Light" from the traveler that he doesn't trust.
To me that's a big sign that the traveler and his light were not good before and that he's dead now. (which would also mean the speaker is sending us on his own agenda) and as such; Rasputin has no reason to keep the Fallen away from it and we do not seem to carry (at least it's original) light.
Also, there is still a colony beyond our locate-able knowledge too as Efrideet has been "somewhere", using "a different way", and will not tell us where. Why? Because she's afraid we'll (the Speaker/ traveler) put the colony in jeopardy or force them to fight. This HAS to be one of the Exodus boats (Noah's Ark 2.0) and Rasputin may have knowledge of where they are and wants to do anything in his power to preserve these remaining uninfected people. If that means let the fallen have Siva and wipe out the rest of the guardians and the traveler, then so be it... it's better than tainting the last untouched civilization.
When the first "guardians" came back, they were warlords that used their power to control and rule over the remnants of humanity. They weren't out protecting us like the guardians of today do. They wanted power and hurt a lot of people to get it. That's why the Iron Lords were created. But Maybe Rasputin only knew of the evil these guardians were doing and saw them as part of the darkness. So he killed them all.
Or in Archon's Forge when Nolandroid says something like "This is the Splicer's hallowed ground, let's defile it!"
Kind of messed up and makes me think we're being told half truths.
Well honestly, we don't have the full story. Its pretty much the cliff notes. I really wanna know the full story. I wish they would do what they did with Halo and do novels and comics.
Considering how awesome their Live action Commercials all I'd live to see a tv series.
It'd be my adult life power rangers... and I'm okay with that even if it looked... at times hoaky like that too.
I'd really love an anime though.... that could really do it some justice and not be confined to our ideas of physics, you know, because of space magic and stuff.
