Exotic Armor Review: Frost-EE5 -I can't feel my toes!-

Okay, so Warlocks usually are the ones who tend to put the weird shit on their exotics. Titans typically have some reasonable stuff on their exotics, for titan standards (if you can call blades coming out of your freaking thighs, reasonable) Hunters, well, they just usually try the weird shit that most people would think was just some half-drunken joke at a bar. They're like that one buddy everyone has, who's catch phrase is "hold my beer." But, for crying out loud, Hunters, what possessed you to stick hoses into your legs, and pump frigging coolant into them? I'm pretty sure that's not how you use coolant. But, hey, whatever works, right? Hunter boots tend to be a little... interesting. You've seen the Lite-brite boots, you've seen the Bones of EAOOOOOO! Now, meet the Frost-EE5. Hmm, there's a joke there, somewhere... Aesthetically, these boots are certainly interesting. As stated earlier, your Hunter now has a web of hoses running throughout their legs, which seem to pump coolant -or some other crazy shit- into their legs (please God, tell me it's just being pumped into the pants...) the design actually looks pretty cool -hah, geddit?- and, to top it off, it has motion-based animation to it. As you move, the black boots slowly frost over, and the hoses can actually be seen pumping their creepy fluid into your legs (seriously, is anybody in the Tower a doctor?) These are probably the most creatively-made exotic boots since Peregrine Greaves. As far as functionality... it's hit-and-miss, at the moment. They do exactly what they're designed to do -reduce cooldowns while sprinting, and tighten turn radius. The turn radius is definitely tightened. You can sprint along the edge of a freaking dime, if you wanted (or act like a dog, and chase your cape). As for the cooldown reduction, it works up until tier-5 Discipline and Strength, where a currently-known bug is causing the boots to actually increase the cooldown timer. Outside of the tier-5 area, though, you can actually notice a bit if a change. It's nothing dramatic, or game breaking, but it's a nifty little boost, to help you get your grenades and ninja smoke back while running to the next group of adds. Additionally, the narutard Nightstalkers can use these to get their emergency invi-smoke back faster, when they're Last Guardian Standing, and are screaming for mommy as an army of angry minions of the Darkness chase them in circles. Just keep running, go poof, and revive your more-useful Titan (odds are, the Warlock already self-resurrected, earlier, when they thought you were about to die anyway). Overall, Frost-EE5s aren't that bad, but they're not something really stand-outish, when compared to other Hunter Exotics. They still don't quite outshine the Bones, or the Ahamkara Grasps, in terms of universal Hunter exotics. But, if you're getting cold feet (I know, I'm lame) about whether to give these boots a shot, go ahead and take them around the block -maybe you'll get a grenade or two back in the process, so you can stick a poor unsuspecting shotgun camper, and continue on your merry way.
