Are you asking just to ask or did you not really ready the update? Flinch was increased because it was too easy to be accurate while under fire. Damage was reduced ONLY to 1 archetype so that 1shotting a super is limited to the highest impact snipers. In speaking specifically to the flinch increase is has done 2 primary things. - It has raised the Risk/reward to a more balanced place. Sniping had very little risk before because you could just stand there under fire and get accurate shots off - It had widened the skill gap. Skilled snipers are still skilled and so well. The mediocre snipers who were relying on the poor flinch to make them look good are now having trouble and have to get better at sniping. Which category do you think you fall into? Sniping is meant to be long range suppression. Not a run and gun out in the open activity. It's not in a much better place gameplay wise then it's ever been.

  • Thanks for that backhanded comment on my sniping, I actually do both to fit the situation. Every single update they widen the skill gap, they keep doing it and now crucible doesn't have much of a skill gap. Primaries are next to useless against shotguns, the flinch has gave them the edge over snipers. Most people would say I'm "crying about shotguns" I'm not, I don't want them nerfed, I don't want anymore nerfs, we need buffs so that everything is competitive with each other. So that time to kills on average are very similar. Bungie keep nerfing things and give lackluster buffs to others, crucible is not balanced, that update did not help balance.

  • It wasn't a backhanded comment it was simply a question based on observation. I'm not sure you get what skill gap is. You can't say in one breath that they keep making it wider and then say there isn't much of a skill gap. - Narrow Skill gap = People of varied skill levels can be efficient at something. This is what we had before in regard to snipers. People with less 'real' gun/thumb skill were getting kills when they really shouldn't have been because the flinch mechanic made it too easy while under fire. - Wide skill gap between skilled players and less skilled = You need more skill to be efficient with something. This is what we should strive for in a game. Especially with something with the range agnostic 1HK potential like a sniper. Unfortunately in Bungie's vision of balance (take that as you will) sometimes things need to be nerfed. You can't simply just buff to balance it just doesn't work that way. People with this mentality are not being realistic.

Okay, but think about what they've done by widening the skill gap for snipers alone, they've narrowed the skill gap for shotgunners as snipers now have a simple counter, primaries have a slow time to kill but stop snipers with the flinch, however shotguns can use this slow time to kill to pull off easy kills. By nerfing snipers alone they have created a balance for primaries against snipers but haven't fixed the balance between the other specials vs primaries. Honestly, I can't see bungies ideals for the state that they want there weapons. There are even bigger problems at the end of the day, the latency for example is the worse it's ever been, they best had buy dedicated servers for destiny 2.

  • No they did not narrow the shotgun skill gap. It's the same as it's always been. Shotguns are a CQC weapon that requires you to make full use of your radar, your mobility, and the terrain. Nothing about that has changed. They are only effective in CQC ranges where snipers were effective in most ranges. Huge imbalance there. The only change is within the community. People were still complaining about shotguns while they were complaining about snipers. Difference is now they are no longer complaining about snipers. So it just seems like shotguns are OP. They are the same

  • Use of your radar? Use of mobility? Striker titan, juggernaut, boom if you can titan skate you can pretty much win any fight with a primary, "balance".

  • Wow. You just completely outed yourself. If you really think that combo (I'm ignoring the skating comment) contributes to the imbalance of PVP then you're completely off your rocker. Good say son I'm done with you as are most people in this thread.
