[spoiler]Since this chapter is such a short one, I am throwing it in as a bonus to "Ch. 15: Guardian Confinement".[/spoiler] Dakota undid the straps holding me to the bed. "I'm not so sure about this..." I wanted to sound like this was wrong, but this was phase one of my plan. "Colt replaced the feed to the camera. To everyone else, you're just laying here, bored as h***," Dakota released the last strap and our ghosts transmatted us to our ships. We landed just outside of the City. Dakota tugged on the collar of his coat, "Here's the plan... Doc is going--" "Let me stop you right there: Doc isn't gonna do a thing to me..." I said as I threw up my arms. "Alan, listen..." Dakota said with disapproval. "The injection Doc gave Blake on the Dreadnought let him use more void than ever... If he gives it to you, you could use up all of the void you have, then I can siphon it from you..." "Mmhm... Yeah, ok..." "It'll be fine, Alan..." "You said it yourself! 'I could die'!" I yelled. "Doc..." Dakota said, tired of me stalling. "Do it." "Wait!!" I yelled. "Does Blake know about this?" I asked. "No one knows but us, Alan... Now shut up," Dakota ordered. "This shot will only hur-hur-hurt for a few minutes... Try not to get too excited ye-ye-et, so it doesn't tri-i-trigger..." Doc's shelled morphed into a syringe and slowly approached me. "I don't think so!..." I willed on Phantom's boots and sprinted from the group. "Alan?! What are you doing?!!" Dakota yelled as he tried to chase me. "I'm on a mission, Dakota! You don't have to get involved anymore than you already have!" I phased through dimensions and looked around. I was back on the Dreadnought. I willed on my helmet so the foul air wouldn't choke me up. I crawled through the short tunnels. As I reached an opening, I began to get really hot. I patted my chest, it wasn't me. I turned the bend to see the whole "Breach"-- as we now called it-- on fire! I looked around in horror, taking everything in. What was this?! Fire, but nothing burning. Just fire, as if a decoration like curtains on a window. Below me, there was a squad of Taken fighting the new Hive knights. They were the flaming knights I saw before when I first used Phantom's boots. They were slightly larger than other knights, and were more vicious!
