Pick your strategy first and usually everything follows. I usually start with my exotic. Then build out around that. For me gift of sun is best with melee and solar perks for gear. Claws (increase melee speed) Helmet with melee perk Chest with solar armor Boots with solar kill agility Artifact with melee kills produce orbs Use brimstone/sunburst with monte carlo and solar shotty. Practice in arena but once you get it orbs will just explode from everywhere and melee will increase super. Super will also double all orbs on melee kills. Why go for a max of 15% damage on a boss when you can keep your team with supers all game long. Even bosses have adds. Make orbs and let defenders and nightstalkers tag team for better numbers imo. *Edit* Radiant skin always

Self res Edit: let me elaborate. If im running sunsinger for pve, i always take the revive. The melee i use the one with the shield because anything else is just garbo. All three grenades are decent for pve. The ball thing is good for zone control and allows you to take advantage of the AI of destiny. They generally try to walk around it, or if they cant they'll just stand still The stickies are nice in providing good burst damage while the last nade is when i don't feel like aiming. Max toughness and tge ability modifiers are used to complement my grenade choice Sorry for not listing names. Haven't touched that subclass in months and just kinda find it boring. The super is very nice though, allowing you more room for error
