So what does meteoric material have to do with "tearing astronauts to shreds"? You do know that 78,000 tons isn't all that big compared to the size of the earth right?

You do know that even the basic idea of "going into orbit" is absurd right? How does an object like the earth, supposedly moving through space at 67,000 mph not leave astronauts and the ISS way behind?

Edited by Peaches Pan Tao: 9/28/2016 8:09:24 AMWow. Im just going to take the bait and switch and pretend that u answered my question. The reason they dont get "left behined"? They are moving at the same speed as the earth, WITH the earth.

Yes. Gravity is good, gravity is great. Now, let us worship... Science is religion. Your explanations demonstrate this with their extreme lack of critical thinking. WHY hasnt the ISS been torn apart if it is moving at 67,000mph? Answer: it hasnt because it exists in a movie studio. Not an impossible environment no one has seen.

Playing along... Inertia is what keeps them moving with the earth. Inertia is easily demonstrated by jumping off of a moving vehicle. You keep moving the same speed as the vehicle until an outside force alters that. In the example I just gave friction with the ground is the main force slowing you. Air resistance has a minimal impact as well. Gravity only has to attract objects in orbit enough to curve their vector of travel. Otherwise they would shoot off on their original vector into deep space. Either way I may believe the earth is flat if anyone can show proof. Religions don't require proof. I do. Since the curvature of the earth is an easily observable and measurable phenomenon it would take a lot of convincing proof to make me believe the earth is flat.

Because there's nothing there to tear it apart...
