I don't think MediaCom is the uniting factor. Yes, I have MediaCom as well, and am getting these errors, but why would we get this error for only ONE game, if it's an internet issue?
I've redownloaded every game I owned since I "reinitialized" my PS4 a few days back. Everything went off without a hitch.... but not Destiny.
Makes it hard for me to believe MediaCom is the problem.... when the only issue is the game, which is made by Bungie.

I still stand behind what I said yesterday. Bungie has a lot of different servers. All are each dedicated to a certain area of the world. So what if they upload the patch to all these servers and some of them get corrupted in the process and some don't? That would explain why some are having a problem downloading the update and some didn't. It would also explain why the ISP's don't matter and why the rest of the games or updates from other games are fine. It's gotta be a few of Bungie's servers. A BUNGIE PROBLEM! But they aren't worried about right now because they will have to release another update Friday for the raid and hopefully that fixes our problem. We have tried so hard to resolve the problem and I don't know what else we can do about it ladies and gentlemen. I've just accepted the fact that we're going to have to wait till Friday to see if we will have a fix.

It is just a theory that collectively was found in most of the forums. I don't have any idea what the problem is but people that don't have mediacom in my town are playing the game I was just in a party chat with someone from my hometown.

And after reading the other comments, it certainly seems a lot of MediaCom subscribers are affected, but it just doesn't seem plausible as the "crux" of the issue. But regardless, thanks for seemingly put more effort into this than Bungie seems to have. Lol

It's the first for me too. Lol And sadly, I used the word, then stopped and laughed because of the pun.

Thank you for providing feedback I totally think that it is crazy as well. If I didn't have so many close friends playing the game (in the same town different ISP) I would have been unaware of the ISP theory. It just seems too odd not to rule it out though, I plan on taking my ps4 to my brothers house later and use his net (he has FRONTIER which I heard is way slower and unreliable connection). Hopefully a solution is ahead of us sooner rather then later.

Did using frontier work? That's the only other provider in my area and was going to try a friends house over the weekend.

I have been a little busy tonight, I will be trying it soon just haven't had the chance yet.
-
No worries. The raid patch will be released Friday, hopefully that'll fix everything.
-
That will be nice do a little catch up but ill be ready.

Actually, when that patch is pushed, technically we'll still have to download 1.28 correct? If so, they'll have to patch the patch. Man, idk anymore. This whole fiasco just gives me a headache anymore!!

I wish you luck! I'm still hopeful they work it out... because as much as I'm pissed they screwed me over with all this, the second it starts working I'll be at Felwinter's Peak. Lol
