Strength of the Pack S2 Ch. 12 pt. 3: Fallen, Princes, and Taken

"Oh, I am so happy to see y'all!" I exclaimed. "We need you to defend the kingdom!" "And what are you going to do?" Asked one of the hunters as he crossed his arms. "My King, allow us to introduce ourselves," said the warlock as he bowed, "Captain Dakota, James Deacon, Blake Thrower, Morin Hov, and Kourtney Osborne," Dakota looked to the other team beside him. "We brought some company..." The other three guardians stepped up, "The name's Edward Hayes. My wife, Gale Burke, and the best exo you could have, Haxx-56." Ta'Chal looked over the two teams, "We could use all the help we can get!" He said with a bow. We looked around us. The Fallen were engaging the Taken-- they ran past us and even seemed to block us. Our band of Guardians charged through the wall of Fallen and engaged the Taken! Side by side, Ariks and Ta'Chal sliced through the warriors of h***! Their sharp blades were stained with the white goo of the Taken. James charged in, gunning down the enemy with Dad. Both titans, in similar motions, grabbed helpless victims by the heads and kneed them in the faces and dropped the motionless corpses. They charged into the crowd-- Dad with a personal shield in the lead, and James with built up forward momentum in the back. They both leapt into the air and caused two massive arc shockwaves, killing several dozens each! Edward, Gale, and Haxx all used their supers and mowed through the Taken forces. The Fallen and the Tau'la soldiers followed in our wake, killing the stragglers. Mom, Dakota, and Blake steadily advanced, tossing grenades and acting as support. Blake deployed a ward in the back for us to fall back to when we needed to reload. He, then, took out Dark-drinker, punched a thrall to gain an overshield, and jumped into hordes and caused many void vortexes to mark where he was. Morin cracked his neck and knuckles. "All right, a**holes! My turn!" He pulled his Hammer of Sol from off his waist, fused it with Solar Light, and charged too. With each hammer, an explosion, and that many less foes. One explosion. Two. Three. Four. Five. Kourtney and I stood side my side, picking off our targets. She whipped out her Bladedancing knife and sliced through crowds. While she, and the rest of our armies moved up, I stayed back and looked around. Arc, Solar, and Void Light lit up the late evening sky! Here and there, sand was turned into glass, and stained by blood. More Taken energy bursts were forming, killing many Tau'la soldiers! I snapped out of my daze and looked to Colt, "The boots... Now!" "Ala--" "Colt! There is more at risk now, than there ever will be! If we don't kill Phantom now, we may never get another chance!" I barked. Colt looked down. He scanned my boots and switched them with Phantom's. I felt the void merge with me. My body temperature, which was reaching two hundred degrees Fahrenheit, was dropping fast! I began to freeze inside, my body was shaking, teeth chattering! "Okay, I'm taking those off of--" "No!! Do...n't! I... have to do... this!" I screamed. I ran up through the crowd, trying to focus on how Phantom did this. "Alan?!" Dakota questioned, "Alan, what are you doing?!!" He exclaimed. I saw realities shifting, the desert slope I was running up dissapeared. I was in a new place. Space. On a ship. On the Dreadnought! I wasn't alone. There was a Hive warship above me, and several odd looking knights praying. They stood up and charged me! Napalm dripped from their armor. "S***! S***! S***!" I phased back to Earth, at the top of the mountain. I turned around to see storm clouds, and Taken energy bursts, strike the ground repeatedly, killing members of both forces. Orange, and blue, and purple lit up the battle below. It was like fireworks already predicting the victor. I walked up behind one unsuspecting Taken and spun it around! He raised his shotgun but stopped. I already had Ace, dowsed in flames, pointed to his head. "It's over, Phantom!" I yelled. "Look down," The warlock glanced down. "I have your tricks, now. You can't run without me following!" The longer I held the Golden Gun, the more my arm began to freeze. "Then, come with me... I could use someone with your Light." Phantom never turned to me. "My Light?" I straightened my arm and held the gun to his head, "What makes me so special?" "You are blending Light... You feel it? Solar and Arc are destructive-- one shows your compassion for those around you, but the other shows your spirit for a fight... Now, Void flows within you... Solar and Void contradict-- One is violent outbursts, the other is calm resolve. Most guardians would go mad by now, but not you..." The warlock turned around to face me, "You are different. Powerful. Useful." I wanted to kill him, but there would be too many unanswered questions. "Useful for what?" I asked. "As we speak, a new faction of Hive tries to take my rightful throne. Like their predecessor Oryx, these are not worthy to be gods. But they do have a powerful army. An army that will bring more destruction than your pathetic Traveler can handle... My Taken will stop them before this system is lost. Then, I can give people their perfect shape..." "Against their will..." I raised the burning gun again and snarled. "Do you know how pre-Golden Age Russia prospered? One ruler, Peter the Great, made reforms to Russia, directly causing it to become the super power it was, and is... But, he understood that people would not corporate, even for their own good. So, he forced his people to change, and it worked. Humans, Krill, Eliksni, they all don't want to change-- they are all stubborn like that-- even if it is for the better... It is unacceptable." "What do you want me for?" I asked. "A war is coming, Hunter... A war of which you have never seen..." Phantom began to dissapear, and so did his troops. "Shoot him, Alan! End it now!!" Yelled Dakota as he and everyone else ran up the hill. I just stood there and let the warlock get away. Frozen by the sheer number of thoughts in my head. What made me special? I stared intently at the millions of grains of sand around my feet and thought, ignoring every sound around me.
