So human or Exo, Cayde can't help but lose the bet, ending up as the vanguard both times.. talk about rotten luck.

I've always thought cayde-6 was all talk. He's actually a coward and is perfectly happy sitting at his big table all day long staying out of danger. He has the personality of a Scam artist. Like is push came to shove he'd go hide in a closet and wait for the battle to be over... Then later come out and be like "yeah we won...I'm awesome!!"

I'll take Shaxx's word over your's.
Cayde ran through the Crucible like it was a game. Sly bastard...
Man. I must have really grown attached to Cayde during my time in destiny. For the first time in a long time I got worked up over someone's comment. Of course I've calmed down now so instead of raging I'll just say that I must completely disagree with you. He may seem like that now from the bit of him you see in the game, but looking through the grimoire and references in the game, he is a total bad-ass. Just think about it, how do you become the vanguard unless you are the best of the best?

Edited by randomhero204: 9/18/2016 1:52:27 PMWell it's not uncommon to have a member in high ranks who has weaselled his way to the top. Comes off as a conniver. Talks tough... Has been lucky a few times...Might not be so tough after all. He hustled Eris morn and destroyed her ship... Went behind zavalas back and forced you to go land on the dreadnaught on a basically suicide mission. (We got lucky admit it) Does all kinds of sneaky things and is basically always surprised we survived because he doesn't care. Just an alternate view on him is all.

Cayde didn't weasel his way to the top. The Hunter Vanguard is chosen by the Vanguard Dare, he took the dare when his friend Andal Brask died keeping a promise and lost the bet, thus becoming the new Vanguard. No Hunter wants a desk job so the Vanguard had to come up with a system to get somebody to do it. We also now know there is only a year left in his commitment, so conceivably he will get to return to the field once another poor hunter loses the dare and takes up the mantle of Hunter Vanguard.

If he's a coward why does he want to get out of the tower so much?

"Hey, hey! Take me with you..."

Edited by randomhero204: 9/18/2016 12:33:24 PMThat's the classic attitude of a coward. "Oh I hate it here so much I wish I could be out there with you!" "but I'll stay here and never fight again" Think about it. He's a swindler, a cheat. A coward.

Yeah.....nope. 😀

Edited by RHINO03: 9/18/2016 4:16:29 PMI won't bother refuting this, I'll simply say that I really hope that's not the case. It's way more fun to revere him as a warrior who cuts through foes effortlessly, than some futuristic used car salesman.
