  • I believe it is when someone falls in "love" with their abuser or capture. After suffering from violent physical or emotional abuse, someone can become attached to the abuser, believe the pain they experience to be their own fault, etc. The abuser may stop the infliction of pain as a reward for the loyalty, submissiveness, or cooperation of the victim. It is surprisingly common reaction. I believe it may stem from the fact that humans have such s violent history, it is hard wired in us to make sense of a horrible situation. We certainly do not follow logic in a lot of our thinking. I hope I answered this well. Stockholm syndrome

    I'm sure I could google it, but I am unsure on that to be honest. It is not a concept I have explored in depth.
