Please let me know when you finish the game, and how much time you need to explore extra areas. I love collecting everything in games, is it like metroid where you have to go back to certain areas to get better things?
I've heard complaints about the combat beginning annoying, and the battles don't become any different. Is this true? I've had high hopes for this game, but the negative reviews do seem to really damper with my spending money.

You definitely go back if you want those dungeons. The combat isnt stale for me atleast i have a pretty high orb capture rate so im not always gunning. Combat is only annoying by being gang banged stunlocked by 3 giant cyber wolves and there are these drones that steal your bot away and pretty much means you are screwed.

It is certainly like metroid in that way. You can't even explore most dungeons to the fullest until you get all the companions, ammo types and enough prismatic cores. Lots of back-tracking, and though a lot of it is optional, you need to keep going back through older areas if you want more stuff. Combat can be irritating at times, specifically when facing large amounts of enemies. You have to constantly juggle ammo types and dodge around the battlefield to stay effective. It can also get a bit stale as it doesn't change all too much later in the game. However it's very dynamic and can provide quite the challenge. Using your different bits as well (which is very easy to forget) helps considerably. Honestly this game is one where I could say to not trust the reviews. You get more than you would expect from a $40 title, and there's certainly enough there that you could spend arguably hundreds of hours perfecting everything and getting all loot. Most reviewer complaints seem to be focusing on very nit-picky things or are treating it as if it were a AAA $60 title.
