I don't mean to be Rude but, Why is everything Getting Leaked on Reddit but Not the Bungie forums until later?

Maybe I'm sounding butthurt but since this is your home website, shouldn't the news be here 1st before having to go to a different 3rd Party Website? For example. This is really a spoiler unless you found out but:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/52jii3/weekly_reset_thread_20160913/ There is confirmation that Tier 3 bosses and All Challenge modes will be available after 10am Pacific.
Also:
https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/52fg1u/private_matches_are_now_available_in_advance_of/ They confirmed that public matches are being released earlier at 10am pacific as well.
So just why does it feel like Reddit is getting more news and feedback then we are? Is it more positive And Respective there? Different Filters? Share this and let's have a respectable discussion on this.

  • Some of the Bungie devs have said they read reddit, sometimes twitter but not the Bungie forums. (In podcast interviews for crucible radio)

  • r/destinythegame is a far superior forum for Destiny information. If you are hanging out here for anything other than worthless "Petition" posts your doing it wrong.

  • The quality of this forum sucks badly, it used to be great in the old format but now its hard to navigate and use or even find what you want. The old forum was hugely better but trust bungo.....ahem, sorry " bungie" to make things worse while patting themselves on the back saying its a great forum

  • Reddit is far more mature than these forums. Most of the people on here are kids that downloaded the app and have no reasoning skills.

    • Because it leaked on NEO GAF and people that know people at bungie and Activision corroborated the story. Bungie did NOT want this leaking, it was not official news.

      • The quality of this forum is noticeably less than the reddit forum. I check both, but not much trending here usually.

      • You are making perfect sense man, don't listen to the people trying to tell you how they think it should be. Reddit is, for the most part a "user" updated forum. As you said, it's not the official company website. Sure the articles are well written, very factual and contain a lot of good information usually from validated sources. But it's not the company coming out and telling their customer what is going on. They're leaving it up to someone else. I had a similar issue with this company awhile ago when they announced that iron banner would be ending much earlier than the usual reset time. The problem was that they made the announcement on Twitter. I don't routinely check Twitter, even though it seems most of the world goes to that "text message as a global sharing service" website for some really strange reason that I don't think anybody really gets. But anyway, this was them conveying important information (Limited time event closing early, which would affect people trying to get to a certain rank) and if you didn't happen to check an unrelated website you'd be SOL. It all still goes back to this company not communicating properly with their customers and not caring enough to actually make a solid effort to change that. Love the game and look forward to playing it, but the company needs to communicate and be much more transparent about where it's going, what's going on, and what's in store for the future.

      • Bungee is lazy that's why. Look at patches ect. They do them at 10am PST unlike most games doing them at 2-4 am. They don't care about the customers at all. Taking 1 year tour fix exploits. Starting maintenance at 10 am. They just want to give give themselves 9-5 jobs. Even browser games do maintenance before 5 am PST time. Good god do crucible and turn in top players for exploits. Really a longbow with no target acquisition and last resort 1 shots threw walls or a titan blinking. Will see this week theres so many bugs they won't fix. And take names of exploiters and post them om reddit. Maybe bungee will deal with them finally

Reddit is the general ground floor forum/news on the net. Reddit will always gets more news and feedback because it is the main funnel of active users for this game. so why is reddit getting more news? It's a site optimized for this exact style of informative reporting than gives you the most cohesive vocal and measurable grouping of playerbase. In addition it's mod base is the biggest mod base who want to build and support the game to the point where they hired cosmo from the reddit team. the team has filters and the subreddit as a whole has a nice balance in all topics. you will always run in to salty and disillusioned players, but the subreddit is a more cohesive than bungie.net. i also will my main point and reason to why people would use reddit over this site... if you have an error, you are more likely to have a fix or a solution recommended to you on reddit and have that be aware of it rather than whine and complain or go to bungie help where you will receive no help. if you don't believe me, just go over to the page now. we have about 10 megathreads noting all major things in ROI.

            • Because Reddit has no "nerf this", "do it now", "I'm entitled" etc. posts. It is a fun and friendly place to be. The mods are awesome! Also, instead of the mods here burying posts about problems, the mods on Reddit help the posts gain traction and get attention so they can be fixed quicker.

Bungie has no time for this site, anymore than I have time for Reddit sites that are heavily censored. Bungie never learns anything from that site as it only allows positive comments from people like Twitch and youtubers who make money at the expense of and off the back of Destiny and Bungie.

                    • Here's the thing. As I've stated many times before. There are many avenues to find information about what goes on at Bungie. There are a few twitter accounts that are constantly feeding information that I wish they could some how bring here. But that isn't likely to happen because I think they would have already done it. There is also the weekly reset that covers some of this, that sometimes, but not always, pops up on the app. So if we want knowledge, and we want to share it's up to us to post it like Reddit does. Unfortunately I could put up the raid has all three challenge modes today as well as all Court of Oryx bosses are in rotation, Elders is grenades and void damage, Playlists are freelance 6v6 and Inferno Rumble....and today is the last day to finish the Exo Sword Quest. And the private matches and MLG event starts today. But it would get lost in the trending or latest threads. It would be nice if this was all just listed in a daily news section here somewhere. Or a sticky was added by our community manager each week for special situations like the Raid and Court of Oryx for last minute Triumph challenges.

I'll let you in on a little secret. Those threads on Reddit? SUBMITTED BY USERS If you as a bungie.net user are upset that that type of information shows up on Reddit first, look in the mirror. It's not some 'leak', FFS, mods and other users log into the game, see what's there, and share it with the rest. That's what happens when you don't spend all your time writing or bumping 600 threads a day asking for Ice Breaker back or calling eachother desticles like a bunch of children. Useful information appears, as if by magic, and doesn't get buried by 2 pages of trolls trying to convince you that Bungie is secretly evil. That weekly reset thread, for example, is part of an automated script someone made that pulls the information from the database and it gets made into a post. And every Wednesday dozens of people voluntarily log in to the app or game and share the gunsmith rolls from all their weapons in a big megathread so everyone can find it. Then these 2 guys go over them each week and post reviews for easy reference.

Because the Destiny Reddit is no where near as toxic and salty as the forums here are.

                          • Go to the Destiny sub-reddit and browse through it. Then come back here. Notice how much more mature, respectful, and intelligent the Reddit users are? There's no sense of entitlement or inarticulate anger towards Bungie on the Destiny sub-reddit.

                            • As an active DTG (Destiny Reddit) user, I can safely say that the Reddit forums are much more respectful and filters out all of the crap that goes on over here. The user base over at Reddit is much more dedicated to the game and doesn't constantly whine about literally everything or "Why I'm Quitting Destiny" posts.

                            • In case you're late to the party, Bungie looks at other sites before this one when making decisions on stuff. They've said so themselves, so them leaking info first is no surprise. This forum is awful and the community is straight buns. I don't blame them.
