Destiny: Legend Untold, Chptr 6 Pt 2

Chapter Six: The Crucible Part Two Then my feet were on ground again; I was standing in a smaller attachment of the building I had been spawning in that had a couple exits and stacks of crates. The process continued on and I kept running into the battle, engaging, dying, then reviving and running again. My team would stick close to each other as we fought our way around the area, but no one was on coms and there was no talking when anyone was side by side, yet we still worked well together and managed to keep the enemy team from taking the advantage. I respawned again, coming up in the building that the enemy had started the round in, which had an entirely open end with old railroad tracks coming up to the building, an old train and several train cars scattered around the building. Once again I began running to join the fray, but then I heard the transmat-like sound of a Guardian respawning and felt a weight come down in my back. The other Guardian and I toppled to the ground, both yelping in shock. I collected myself for a moment before gently pushing the other Guardian off of my back and then getting up. I looked down and saw that it was one of the female Guardians from my team, and I reached down to help her up. "Ugh, sorry," she mumbled, then took my arm and pulled herself up. "It's fine," I told her, looking around to make sure no one from the enemy team was coming in. "John, I'm gonna kill you later," I heard her say angrily, and my attention snapped back to her. "Sierra? And John?" I asked. She looked up at me from dusting herself off and started upon recognizing my voice and armor. "You're the Guardian from Europe!" "Yes! Man I'm glad to have run into someone I know," I said. John appeared at her side. "Oh I know you're glad to see her," he said mischievously, his shell scrunched up for a moment in a way that reminded me of winking. "Can it, John," Sierra growled, "I don't need you embarrassing me in front of every guy I meet." "Well can you blame me for wanting you to be happy?" He asked playfully. "John, shouldn't you be busy hiding so you don't get shot?" Sierra asked icily. "Oh, thank you for caring," John said sarcastically. "You're doing a great job trying to make her happy, John," I laughed, "But it seems to me like Ghosts can't be revived, even if they're only hit by a stray bullet." "At least someone appreciates me," John said, then disappeared. "Stupid, sassy, inappropriate Ghost," Sierra grumbled, but I suspected she was hiding a smile behind her helmet. "Ah don't worry, you don't seem embarrassing to me, you just have a funny Ghost," I told her. "Oh John will find some way to embarrass me in front of you again, mark my wor-" she stopped short when a few bullets flew between us. We both snapped our guns up and shot at an enemy Guardian who had stumbled upon us. He was down in seconds and we turned back to each other. "Maybe now's not the time for catching up," I said sheepishly. "Agreed. John, patch me into this Guardian's coms," she commanded. "Actually, my name is William," I said. "What do you know," Sierra said, her voice coming in clearly on my coms now, "Congratulations, William. Let's get moving." We both ran out of the building and split up, seeking separate targets, but occasionally sending updates to the other so we could work together to take out the enemy team. I ended up back with a couple of my teammates quickly, holding out at one end of the tunnel. But then I heard the sound of something igniting, as if someone had lit a barrel of oil. A Hunter from the enemy team came up from the far entranceway to the tunnel, his body wreathed in flames and a hand cannon made of fire in hand. He walked forward slowly and a fiery bullet flew forth from his weapon, hitting one of my teammates and making him dissolve in flames. My other teammate burst into flames as the Hunter fired again. I finally raised my gun enough to shoot at him, for that he all happened in only seconds, hoping to take him down before he could get me. He leveled his gun at me, about to fire, but a Titan from my team rushed up behind him. The Hunter turned to face him, but he had jumped through the air with fists raised above his head, and lightning began coursing over his body. The Titan's fists came down on the ground, landing a couple feet away from the Hunter, but a bolt of lightning came down where he hit and a large shockwave of electricity shot out. When the shockwave hit the Hunter, he disappeared in a flash of light and the crackle of electricity, but the wave passed harmlessly through me. The Titan rose up and rushed away, seeking another opponent. "What the heck was that!?" I shouted, staying ducked down behind a crate. "Those were what Guardians call "Supers"," my Ghost told me, "the are some of the abilities that define what Class a Guardian is. As a Guardian uses his or her Light in battle, they slowly generate a store of energy that, once fully charged, can be unleashed in a devastation show of power. That Titan on our team used what is called Fist of Havoc, and the Hunter used Golden Gun." "Well that's just great," I muttered, "Can't wait until I have the big stick." Then I ran out into the fray. * • • After a little while longer of shooting and grenades and Supers, Shaxx came in and declared the game over in favor of my team. We all transmated back into our ships and flew high into the atmosphere. Sierra's ship split off from the group and I followed; one round of that was enough for me today. Our coms were still linked and I spoke to her. "Well that was fun, totally worth spending such a long time there," I said. My Ghost cut in, "You were barely there for twenty minutes." "What, really?" I asked. "Yes," John and my Ghost chimed over the coms. "Time flies," I said, shrugging, "Where are you off to next, Sierra?" "Off to complete some bounties," she answered. "Bounties?" I asked, "Are those like stuff people at the Tower ask Guardians to do?" "Yes, actually," my Ghost replied. "Can I join you?" I asked, "I wanna see what exactly we do out in the field." "Sure thing," Sierra said, then her ship turned and flew back down to the surface. I followed close behind. ___________________________________ Link to ToC:https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/212710816/0/0 Link to Chapter 6 Part 1:https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/211674139/0/0 Link to Chapter 7 Part 1:https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/211904172/0/0 Thank u so much all of u wonderful readers, I'm so glad to hav people that enjoy reading what I write and encourage me to write more.
