Agree its not the end of the world, but it was unnecessary to nerf the game just prior to release of a major expansion. Not the best way to generate anticipation for the new content.
When the Taken King's patch launched a week prior to the release date for TTK, strikes didn't even reward engrams whatsoever for the entire week, so this isn't too bad. Having certain things locked can cause other odd little hiccups in the game world. So until they manually activate Rise of Iron, we just have to be a little patient!
As for me, while I'm getting greens like crazy, I've gotten a lot of legendary engrams by continuously playing strikes. So, it might be a different experience for everyone. Greens aren't that bad either, really. Extra glimmer, and if you have ghosts for specific locations, might as well reap the benefits of their perks, and get that extra material from picking up those engrams! We have a week and some left. I think we are in for a nice treat! :)
