That's my whole point bro. Why would they warn you about something that they don't support or encourage players to do. Essentially by just removing them they are showing players that when you do save stuff, it's at your own risk.
They have no reason to warn you about something players are doing as a cheap way to gain xp.

You keep saying Bungie doesn't promote or support "methods" , can you SHOW us this "list" of support and not supported methods that Bungie has released.......
-
This is my point bro. You act like you are entitled to some crap from bungie about this. But it doesn't matter either way.
-
Three full bounties on one character represents only enough marks to buy half a weapon. It's hardly going to break the game when I've got several hundred marks worth of stuff in my vault ready to be converted into marks when the DLC drops. Thing is, a lot of us got in the spirit of preparing for the DLC. It gave us something to do during this appalling content drought, it gave us a reason to grind the IB when we've already got a shed full of 335 gear. We invested our time and squirrelled away our bounties in the expectation of a small reward on the 20th. And Bungie just wiped that out. We played the game, and we played the meta-game, and they knew we were doing it, and they didn't care enough to tell us they were going to wipe the bounties. It's the not telling us that sucks, that's all.
-
You did not invest that much time in 3 bounties. You act like they deleted your character or something lol
-
I did not care about the XP it was the marks that the bounties were saved for. if you would read the comments that have been posted for the last 18 hours that is what most of the guardians are upset about not the XP for the new Iron Banner.
They have no reason to warn you about something players are doing as a cheap way to gain xp.
They removed 225 marks from my account on Xbox and 150 Marks on playstation so yes i do have a reason to be warned.
-
But you will get those back eventually. Like I said hoarding so you can get everything on the first day is cheap and not true to the spirit of destiny imo. Bungie has never encouraged hoarding engrams and bounties, they have also never warned people about them in the past. Even when asked directly, they simply wouldn't comment If it's not clear to people that bungie don't care for hoarding and boosting at the beginning of content release or events, it is now.
-
And what is the "spirit of destiny" ?? Seems to be in your own mind... People can hoard all they want, they spent the time to grind to get whatever it is. That is what Destiny is about, grinding, even they have said it.
-
It's simply about getting everything at once in first day of release that I don't think they would agree with. How many times have I said that now? Nothing wrong with hoarding at all. Believe what you want
-
Edited by Zblur: 9/9/2016 7:29:58 PMThey do support it. If they didn't you would not be able to do it. The bounties would be taken after the event ends. The same for holding exotic engrams in the hope you get new exotics. If bungie didn't support that they would lock them to only Oryx DLC like they did in year 1. Yr1 exotic engrams locked to vanilla destiny with no light increase and ppl complained a little sure but it was communicated. This time they did it at risk as you say because Bungie dodged the ? The question of will your bounties be kept was answered with a 'YES' when asked by Game Informer...so that means bungie supported it and lied to us..... Hold on let me get you the link..... https://youtu.be/bEgHalZoCtg The quote n time in... @16:45 Game Informer asks if bounties would stay in your inventory... Chris Barrett and Scott Taylor said they would
-
No I think it's more one of those things were I guarantee any member of bungie would say they think hoarding engrams probably takes away from some of the specialness of finding them generically. but if players want to hoard them, that's on them. It's a legitimate method in the game right now. But honestly getting everything possible first day isn't nearly as fun in he long run, as slowly collecting it all. The slow collection is part of what made year 1 so exciting.
-
But no member of bungie has ever said holding bounties or engrams is bad and we don't want you to do it. We can't go off what someone "might" say. I'm proving with video evidence what WAS said. Ignoring the general "you took my bounties I demand them back" ridiculous demand posts. What I'm seeing is that Bungie didn't communicate they were going to it, in fact the opposite was communicated. Then they reverse course without warning. That lack of communication and complete reverse without telling us all is the issue. The extreme would be having $200 in the bank and the bank says you can have it on Sept 1st. You show up to the bank and the bank says sorry we lost it...bye...
-
It's actually laughable to me how upset people get about something so asinine. A majority of bounties are still there and just because one group didn't and hose two didn't think about that in an interview they are lying? Sounds like you need to chill and get over it. And again, saying they will stay doesn't mean they support or don't support it. It's just them answering a question. And the question want, do you like the idea of players hoarding bounties and engrams.
-
The issue is not the marks as they can be earned it is the principle we were lied to. Yes, they lied. Game infirmer: "Are we going to get to keep our bounties?" Answer: "yes" They could have clarified. They had that chance to answer "All except IB and ToO." If an interview ever asks someone at bungie "Do you like players hoarding bounties and engrams?" They answer "no" Then we can revisit that point issue. Right now we have evidence the question was asked and that was the answer. It was not an ambiguous ? It was strait forward. Here is another extreme then: I hold you hostage and tell you I will let you go. I let you go in the middle of the desert with no food or water. You naturally thought someplace safe...nope...but you are free. You will be dead without food or water but I didn't lie you are free. Similar principle taken to the extreme. Communication is all we were looking for not poof they are gone.
-
AND for the record, I lost some of those bounties too. But I don't turn into a bitch when stuff doesn't go my way.
-
The bounties being gone we have to accept that because they are gone. I'm not happy about that but everyone will live. I'm not bitching about that. The communication is the issue. Tell me in the Gamer Informer interview Yes, except IB and ToO bounties. Hell, I would have accepted them being vague like they where with exotic engrams...umm..they might...tee heee... Just don't tell me one thing and do the opposite. I don't think that is too much to ask.
-
Edited by Chrismhoop: 9/9/2016 8:57:10 PMLike i said if you expect them to get every detail correct off the top of their head an interview every time, your bound to be disappointed.
-
That is a good point and I can accept that if it was a E3 or PAX or impromptu interview like that. You know how Deej did those at some of the events recently. Since Game Informer had exclusive rights to these interviews I would hope....hope...that they were given a copy of the ?'s before hand and the Bungie/Activision publicist reviewed them and all that stuff before the interview. I would hope they preped for the interview....hope...key word...or assume... We will never know how all of that stuff transpired. If bungie issues an apology for miscommunication I'm sure the user base will be forgiving for the mistake. We all make those. Unfortunately the stance seems to be right now..."sorry, suck it up or f#$% you deal with it" that is going to make everyone more mad. I would even accept it if someone gives another interview or stream where another bungie rep. says this is where we told you we were taking them.....that would be proof that these guys just made a mistake or if bungie didn't want to admit to that then they could say this is where we told you they would be gone and these guys were just being vague not to give too much info.
-
My personally I take these interviews and stuff for what they really are, interest generators and hype builders. If you take the prelaunch info as law you can expect to be dissappointed. I have learned this now not just about destiny but video games in general these days. Because of that I think I'm more able to just enjoy the game and the community for what it is. AWESOME! And I am willing to look passed "mistakes" like this especially considering how quickly the game evolves and how it seems to becoming something new everyday in a way that few if any other games are!
-
They miss stuff and miss points in interviews all the time bro, I'm sure you miss details in conversations as well. Just because at the time of he interview they weren't thinking about iron banner bounties, doesn't mean they committed some kind of treason to you. If that was enough to get your panties in a wad, you need to grow up.
-
What is laughable is that you feel the need to defend bungie in what you think they have said. At this point it does not matter that the community is upset about the bounties being removed it is over and they will do nothing to remedy this situation.
-
They don't need to do anything. That's the problem with the forums and Reddit. Most people honestly don't care, but the forums and Reddit who live in their own salty world are up in arms over the silliest thing.
-
For someone that has played less than 12 total days (yes i looked you up on destiny tracker) you sure know quite a lot about how people that have put months of playing time into this game should feel and react. As i have said before I have played since BETA on playstation and xbox so i do not feel that you have earned the wright to even discuss how i should feel about the time i have invested and the materials that were removed without prior knowledge. it is not for you or anyone to tell me how i should feel.
-
It's funny I actually went to destiny tracker to find how the hell you got 12 days for my time played. I have just under 12 days spent in the crucible lol and that's not counting my xbox character (Cho0ps)
-
Edited by Chrismhoop: 9/11/2016 4:39:57 AMYou clearly have no idea how to read time stats on destiny tracker because I can almost guarantee I have as much if not more time than you and have been playing since beta as well on two consoles fully leveling6 characters. I know all about that investment. Edit: and you are entitled to feel however you want regardless of how silly it is or pointless to be upset about.

maybe because i used destiny tracker not Fracker
destiny fracker
