When I read "tall man" and "suit", I got a bit disappointed when it turned out not to be Slenderman.

To be fair, it's not all mentally challenged kids stabbing people. Web series like Marble Hornets, EverymanHYBRID and Tribe Twelve have done a damn good job making shows about characters tormented by the Slenderman.

I don't find the character itself creepy, I honestly don't really find any of that stuff creepy. It just triggers my oversensitivity thinking of that case (I read a lot about it, what the girl said as she was being stabbed literally haunts me)... yeah, I'm sort of a nut job.... Elisa Lam on the other hand....

Oh don't worry, they actually don't focus as much on Slenderman as you might think. Even Tribe Twelve, which features him the most prominently, still has other antagonists taking up just as much of the spotlight. The Slenderman is used more as this omnipotent presence, always popping up every now and then to keep you on your toes. And yeah, that story was awful. Those two girls are clearly mentally ill. I'm just glad that poor girl survived.
