Osiris: Lore

Osiris: Surely you've heard the name Osiris, but have he heard his story? Allow me to tell you his lore. Osiris is a well accomplished warlock who fought alongside the titans at six fronts. Saint-14 appointed him Vanguard commander based on his combat prowess that he demonstrated at six fronts, even thought the concordant claimed to have records proving he was a Golden Age experiment mis-incarnated as a human by an inept Ghost. Eventually Osiris got tired of strikes missions and unproductive sessions with the cryparchs, but the speaker said he saw humanity's future in Osiris and took him under his wing. But Osiris grew evermore curious. He started asking questions about the traveler: How much of our memories are our own? Why are we so willing to yield to authority without question? Are we just weapons manufactured by and for the traveler? The speaker found this thinking "divisive and disloyal" And his curiosity only grew. He started looking into thanatonautics and Ahamkara-lore. He chased after Xur and looked to learn the tricks of the nine. He launched expeditions into the reef and at a time when ships were irreplaceable. And in his quest to satisfy his curiosity, he (unintentionally) divided guardians along ideological lines. Because of him, hunters chased after his visions instead of protecting refugees, Titans chased after the legendary vault of glass instead of pushing back the fallen, and warlocks began to study the exact nature of the darkness, instead of the traveler. Osiris later left in exile. It is unclear if he left on his own accord. After he left, he sought to understand the hive and vex. He figure the hive ruptures had a nexus point and went out in search of it. He made prophecies predicting Crota and Oryx. He made numerous breakthroughs on the vex origins and theorised that the vex can't simulate guardians. He theorized that the traveler might be a god-incubator or ontoformer. He also theorized that the map timekeeper was a giant broken clock that would only start to tick in the presence of the darkness itself. He also found a way to explore the vex gate networks. The speaker has sent out ghosts to find him and they returned with little nothing. He did however manage find Osiris and sent Saint-14 to go find him in hopes to bring him back. The fate of Saint-14 is unknown. Following the release of Skolas, Osiris met with Eris and Mara sov in the reef to put together a plan to kill Oryx. He was also able to establish the trials of Osiris to forge guardians into ones who never lose, to prepare them for the coming darkness and other powerful forces such as Oryx. This has been the lore of Osiris. Hope you enjoyed.
Don't forget to check out the Lore master thread for more stuff like this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/206388637/0/0
