In my opinion, Bungie needs to consider buffing all primaries across the board, with the exception of handcannons. Handcannons are fine. Although, Hawkmoon should be given rifled barrel. If not any more range, at least a stability increase.
Fusion rifles need more based range, and faster charge rates. Some fusions are really good, but overall they are above average at best. I've seen some pretty dirty fusion rifles, but they can't compare to shotguns.
Sidearms need more range, and don't really reflect their rate of fire. They also need increased hip fire accuracy.
Sniper rifles and shotguns are fine. Leave them alone. It's everything else being too weak that makes shotguns and sniper rifles look too good.
Pvp is WAY TOO CENTERED AROUND SECONDARY WEAPONS. I've been grinding Pvp extremely hard for a very, very long time. I'm retired, so I have the time.
Of course, many people will oppose this, and that's fine. Bungie has to cater to kids who can't get a kill with a primary to save their lives. I played four straight matches of this last Iron Banner where all I died to were shotguns. Any kid that tried to primary gun fight me got absolutely destroyed. I started looking up stats of players, and I can't believe how many players have more super kills or shotgun and sniper rifle kills than primary kills. That's absolutely crazy!
Primary skill is absent, and those that possess great primary skill are punished by shotgun warriors and hard scopers.
Bungie, we want our primaries back.

Edited by Krieger559: 8/31/2016 7:55:48 PMSpecials are too readily available in my opinion. Look at games like Halo and Gears of War. Usually you would have to fight for control over a sniper or rocket launcher, and even a shotgun sometimes. If someone had a power weapon, you kill them, they drop it, and now you have it. In this game, you kill them and respawn with it. Always. Maybe with less ammo but they still have it. To me this makes PvP in Destiny not fun and is the main reason I don't play it.

Thorn meta in a month
-
The issue with that is it quickly turns into CoD. A balance of nerfs and buffs are what's needed. Incidentally, Bungie don't rebalance based on feedback (If they did they'd just buff everything)
-
Massive slow down the handling of sniper may help, now it's tooooooo easy to use
-
The last weapon class that's "fine" is hand cannons.
-
Hawkmoon could use that. And I can use primary or I can shotty primary, or sniper primary because I've practiced for a while.
-
Auto rifles need a buff. I can't kill with a string of headshots quick enough to kill someone before they waltz back into cover or I lose to a Hawksaw or get insta-killed by a Last Word. I think auto's need a base damage increase except for the lowest impact ones.

I just wanna rock n roll for Christmas. I wanna Christmas rock n roll

Wombo combo
-
you actually think hand cannons are fine. they need a range and accuracy buff. Handcannons can barely be used mid range without damage fall off, not even mentioning the accuracy problems you often encounter
-
Sorry to say but fusions shouldn't be in the game, they're just way too hard to balance!
-
Make all primaries op af.
-
I mostly agree. Fusion rifles are actually great. It takes a minute but they can have crazy range. However, I swear they have a ghost bullet problem. I will clearly see all bolts hit within medium range and absolutely nothing happens. Second. Hand cannons are not fine. Purposely adding in coding that creates ghost bullets/bloom is ridiculous and needs to be removed.
-
The Crucible is unplayable to me. It's just not fun. At all. Ever.
-
I use fusion rifles more than any other secondary now and I feel they are in a pretty good place right now. They just require a bit of practice to master. I do agree there are a few issues with some of the archetypes (particularly the fast charge, low impact - I have bolts disappear from these ones all the time), and they all suffer from connection and latency issues. The latency is the most frustrating part. Some games you can hit someone square on and they'll survive with a slither of health or barely any damage at all. Other than that they are pretty good. Especially loving Plan C at the moment.
-
That is a lot of playtime you have there. I agree with everything you said except hand cannons. Bloom needs to be removed completely.
-
Edited by Carvoic: 8/29/2016 6:47:37 AMI refuse to accept that hand cannons are fine. Hand cannons should not have such severe bloom. It basically guarantees that you can only use hand cannons that have high range and good stability which is why you mostly see Eyasluna. The drop off nerf is all that should've happened
-
Crucible is unplayable. Derek Caroll is a dumbshit.
-
Bump.
-
Hand cannons need to have the bloom effect removed, a slight range increase, and push damage falloff to keep their overall range in check.
-
Make snipers harder to aim under fire
-
Agreed, except for handcannons. Bloom seriously needs to be removed.
-
The thing that needs fix the most is the -blam!-ing latency ...
-
At least it's not as bad as it was in the dark below... Only shotguns, fusions, TLW and thorn existed it seemed.

Play the game
