PS4 new profile

So...because my brain is fried at the moment and I'm tired of reading through articles that don't answer my question I figured I would ask the ever so friendly Gaming community. Since I'd like to change my username and Sony is being a bunch of jerks about adding that function in I decided that I would just make a new profile. My question is, I have my main account (this one) as my profile with my card info and PS+ subscription. If I make a new profile will I still have access to the same things I have on this one? It's activated as my primary system or whatever. I just want to be able to make a new account with a new name and play all the same things I do now without any issues. I understand I will lose my trophies and friends list which doesn't really bother me. Any other downside to creating a new account and starting games over?

  • As long as you set the old one to primary you can access it all

    • Sony didn't just forget to add the function, they use people's gamertags (or whatever Sony calls them) as identification rather than using an email account or URL. It's not worth it.

    • Yep I have a main account (this one) don't like the name and made it ages ago, I have another account on the same ps4 and it just uses the ps plus from my main account and I can access all games I've bought digitally on the main account, only downside is you can't access the save files from the other account.

    • Yes, you should be able to as long as it's your primary console. Of course you'll have to start over on every game you've played and not have any of that data/trophies/unlockables, etc.
