Upgrading from Xbox 360 to Xbox One Difficulties

I very recently bought an Xbox One and had the intention of buying Destiny and her expansions via the Destiny - The Collection Upgrade route. Which is supposed to provide a discounted upgrade path to players that own The Taken King on a legacy console. I own the licenses of and have played, The Taken King as well as all of the other expansions and the base game on my Xbox 360. However I am unable to purchase Destiny - The Collection Upgrade for Xbox One, it simply says that it is "Coming Soon." I haven't purchased any games for my Xbox One yet, I was planning on only purchasing this upgrade for the time being. So right now I have an Xbox One, but no games that I want to play on it; as I am unable to buy the game that I want. I contacted Microsoft Support and chatted with a rep for over an hour, and he is going to schedule a followup (Since he/we could not solve the problem today). However, I posed a question to him before the chat session ended to which his response was to ask you (The Publisher); and since I could not find a way of contacting Bungie directly, I have resolved to pose the question here in the forums. Since both Destiny – The Collection and Destiny - The Collection Upgrade contain the same exact content, is there any way that I can purchase Destiny – The Collection at the discounted $40 (+Tax of course) SRP detailed on your [the publisher’s] website?

  • I have the exact same issue, I've done 3 different chat sessions with Microsoft but it is still unresolved. Check out the Destiny reddit page for other people with the issue, as well as this thread: https://www.bungie.net/sr/Forums/Post/211500334?sort=0&page=0 It seems that they may be currently fixing the xbone users exploiting the upgrade and the legacy console upgraders are suffering for it. Just a theory though.

  • This is unfortunately something you will have to continue to work with Microsoft on. Bungie is not a retailer, and does not directly sell the game. If there are difficulties with listings on the Xbox Live Marketplace, it is something that only Microsoft can fix.

    • passing on the xbox one S with the xbox 360, I was hoping that the move will not be a burden. Despite this, I still spend $ 19,99 TTK + $ 29,99 RoI ... but I finally do not have a base Destiny and I do not want to pay again. I have two disks: basic Destiny and Destiny: Legendary edition .. WHY Bungie has not provided the opportunity to receive the keys of the game for xbox 360 xbox one? Why at least not to meet the players and facilitate their transition from one console to another? They spent so much more: the price of the console itself + the price of the new update. And then, I'm tired of arguing with the guys from Xbox support, considering my bad english

Seems like i was in the same boat, whereas, I purchased and xbox one specifically for rise of iron. Every time i tried to download the rise of iron i got the same as you "coming soon". I then read a forum that stated maybe if you download all the content needed for rise of iron ie, destiny and all expansions to include taking king, maybe then try to see if rise of iron become available. Anyways, I did just that and ensured I had all mandatory components installed on xbox one (destiny, expansions taking king) and then I tried to access store again to see if pre order was available and sure enough it was. I have rise of iron on order and have been playing destiny on my xbox one since. (even though the upgrade's descripion says ttk,it is a typo and actually wants all 3 original dlc on the 360 version present on your account. ik stupid right but eh.once all 3 are present then it should unlock the upgrade's discount for you in the marketplace.)

        • idk what the problem is. i am starting to see this more and more on bungie now. i got the collection upgrade just fine as i too started on xbox 360 with ttk legendary edition. i recently got an xbox one (this month) and i was able to purchase the upgrade for $39.99 without problems.took me 3 days to download afterwards.the only problem i have now (or should i say wait to get fixed hopefully) is the collector's edition digital content upgrade as due to a exploit that ppl used to get it for free made the item unavailable to purchase atm for those who actually want to purchase it the correct way.

        • Same problem. What's worse is that I'm always told to go to Microsoft then Bungie and then Microsoft again. I'll ask Microsoft again at another time but there's a high chance nothing will change.
