The amount of players I see in strikes that feel like they don't even exist is hilarious to say the least. I understand not being "good" or a "casual." But like how are you going to enter void burn strikes with LITERALLY ZERO VOID ABILITIES AND WEAPONS. Why? Better yet, if there is any amount of enemies that do void damage, expect your random strike mates to die multiple times to them. Any part involves jumping? Yup, you've lost a team-mate for 5 minutes. When I run with friends, we end the strikes in like 5 minutes. Seriously, we've beat the Undying Mind in 4 minutes and 6 seconds. That includes the 30 second timer at the end of strikes. :^) Proof: http://i.imgur.com/LST6VRD.png
But god forbid if you queue up by yourself from time to time, good lord. You'll get half the players that AFK, a quarter that have no idea of what they are doing, and the last quarter just leave because the strike isn't the one they wanted. Absolutely hilarious, but at the same time a little aggravating. I've never ran into so many players who can't even do strikes, let alone a raid. They're not hard, they don't require a lot of attention. I literally do strikes to just farm rep, engrams, and to chill. Please randoms, please don't be that guy who thinks sitting in the back shooting adds is helping. -_-

*Since this got traction apparently, I'm going to drop this edit in. For those misinterpreting my post, this is not about strikes being difficult because they are far from it, this is not about speedrunning, nor about specific playstyles. This is strictly about how dumb some of these random players are. Too reminiscent of BF4 blueberries and how goddamn awful they were.

This is why I should be able to queue for another strike lobby without losing my vanguard streak.

Edited by buyNhodl_amc-gme: 8/23/2016 4:35:46 PMI love all you whiny bitches who choose to start matchmaking enabled stuff, and then bitch and cry that not everyone is as good or as dedicated as you, or plays the way you want to play. "Oh my God why are you killing shit!? just run past them scrub, I want to get this strike done as fast as possible because I'm gud and that's what gud guardians do, -blam!-in scrub casual noob! I'm so gonna rant about these scrublords on the destiny forums tonight!! " Shut up. I do what I want. I like killing shit. I like leaving a trail of death destruction and chaos in my wake. If i want to use the burn weapon for that week maybe i will. But i might not. Who knows. I know that some random salty tryhard isnt gona make me play differently than how i want to. Get a fireteam and shut up.

If you run past everything I will not help. Ill sit and watch.

I was with you until I started seeing the bullshit and quickly realized you are one of those people i hate. Those that just can't gave fun and need something to harp about. You say its not hard. You say you beat them in 5 minutes. That tells me you should be able to beat the strike by yourself with no assistance. You would have no reason to bitch. But since you are I figure you only do so well because if your friends and the fact these randoms aren't good enough to help or carry you then you have to rant on the forums . It's not a competition. You play as a team or play alone. Afk? Leave or do without. Guy doesn't know? Show him or do without. Somebody dies? No way. Not in this game. If you are bold enough to butch about that then you deserve the randoms you get.

its not the randoms that bother me 120 packages later no ldr my friend opens his 6th

Try solo queuing rift...
-
I've had ransoms that stayed for well over 10 strikes and we worked really well. Then you get sword guy that thinks he's playing dark souls ...
-
Annnnnddd that's the reason why we don't have matchmaking in raids :D. I completed the shield brothers strike like 4 times in a row solo cuz every one left all the time being AFK.
-
Hey sometime you get great strike team mates other times you get people that you don't know how they even function in life. Its all rng baby
-
How about the guy that's not afk, he's moving around but just to hide behind something in the next area while you and the other guy are killing everything. He's just there, watching, waiting.... Until you lead a captain over to him and watch him get killed while he just panics and punches. It sucks, just leave the strike and try your luck with more random people, I've gotten with good randoms and some will play for hours with you if you find the right ones.
-
Ummm, people still do strikes?
-
About the not having void weapons equipped when void burn example. Did it ever occur to you that some people might now have any of that type of damage? Example being on xbox i just noticed i have 1 void weapon. 1 and only 1 So because of the randomness of loot and my seemingly bad luck of not getting a void weapon does thst make me "irresponsible" or "stupid" or "worthless" in a strike because of bad lick ive had? No it doesnt. Sounds like someone had to run a strike and go most of the work. Cry me a river dude its a game
-
Wait...you need teammates to do strikes?
-
Got the exact opposite experience today. Was running Voidwalker with Bad Juju & Obsidian Mind and got matched with another Warlock running the same thing. We ran like 5 strikes together. Needless to say, the Nova Bombing was real.
-
Ikr, nearly every game I had my teammates kills combined and doubled while speed running. Also, I had storm callers as teammates on a VOID burn strike. It makes no sense
-
Afk'ers are the worst. Just freaking leave if you're not going to play. They slow down the match and won't allow others that will help to join.
-
I personally don't care what other guardians are running in any matchmaking playlist. But when everyone takes advantage of the modifiers a 30 minute strike turns into a 10 minute strike.
-
They need SBMM for PvE. Had one strike where a guy had 11 kills when we got to the archon priest. 11 kills. He wasn't AFK and was there the whole strike.
-
Strikes are easy. Stop being a pleb. Chill.
-
See the thing with strikes is I just go all guns blazing, I take stupid risks and I experiment with stupid loadouts. Not because im being a bad team mate but because so many things in this game are taken far too seriously and strikes are my 'dick about' activity. Sorry if that makes me a bad team mate but im here to have fun and piss about, im not interested in playing how others want me to play im just interested in having my own fun.

Optional matchmaking. Sometimes soloing is better than 2 people similar to what the OP mentioned. OPTIONAL matchmaking. I still have no idea why this isn't a thing. The ability to either enter or remove yourself from matchmaking before launching an activity. As simple as another button when launching.
-
Lol you obviously don't play skirmish. The random in there are the goddamn worst. I can't tell you the number of "the best around" medals I've gotten in skirmish or the number of whichever medal is being the best on the losing team quing random.
Random in general -blam!-ing suck at destiny.
-
Posts like this only justify Bungie's decision to not have Raid matchmaking...
-
Maybe they're new, and literally don't know how the burns work, or exist. Maybe they're leveling up some gear, or a subclass. Maybe they like the strikes to be challenging, so they don't use the burn for damage. Maybe they're 8, and are just running around shooting stuff, having a blast. Maybe, if it really bothers you, you should only do strikes with a full fireteam.
-
I don't care how they play in strikes, but I f I happen to die, and my orb is clear, REVIVE ME. Cant say how many times I have died wearing crest, and we wiped because someone didn't go for the res.
-
I like to run strikes using nothing but no land beyond. The confused/hate mail is awesome.
