App no longer supported for legacy consoles
Ok Bungi, I can understand no longer releasing new content for Xbox 360 and PS3. But come on, disabling the app also? Way to show your players that you care...
Not everyone can just drop a couple hundred on a new console. Some of us are on a tight budget and need to pay for things like food, gas, rent, school books, ect.
So how about cutting us some slack and reenable the app for legacy players?
And while your at it could you fix Xur also?

3 RepliesI just want access back to my Grimoire cards. Bungie f'ed up the storyline for Destiny and their fix was creating the Grimoire. Now when ever I unlock a new Grimoire card the game tells me to go online to read it, but guess what, I can't because I have a legacy system. I'm sorry but it was Bungie's decision to tie the games storyline to the online app, so they should be obligated to continue its support. They can scale it back if needed, but at a minimum they need to bring access back to the Grimoire.

3 RepliesWhat's really crappy is that the app is still tracking play on the legacy consoles, it just won't let you look at the stats if you were last signed in on one. If I play matches on my 360 and then look at the app, the app will tell me there is a problem. But if I simply sign into my account on my X box one(not play just sign in). All of the stats from the games I played on the 360 will be there. It's total bulls@!t. It's just Bungie trying to sell you another copy of a game you already own.

Out of curiosity, I booted the old PS3 and accepted the migration and such, patched up, selected my toon to get into orbit. When I tried to pull up anything on my profile like Grimoire, Gear, etc. I got hit with error pages left and right. Everytime I tried to load them after that, I just got the header/footers and such for the pages---no body. Logged out of the PS3, out of Bungie.net, Logged back into the PS4 and Bungie.net, and everything is behaving normal again when I pull up those same pages. If I log back into the PS3, it flips up again and all pages serve no content. This continues until I log back into the game on the PS4. Perhaps there is a sort of glitch there for Bungie to work out? Guessing we are getting new Unique ID's or something for the PS3 profile, and it isn't cross-referencing properly? Searched my name and only see the one Unique ID in the list of results. IDK what went wrong...but it definitely is trying to pull up the last profile I was in the game with, even without logging out of Bungie.net. Was booting into the PS4 game as I was typing this edit, launched gear manager in a different window and it pulled up my PS4 profile just fine. Looks like there are still references to PS3 database fields...maybe they are pointing to NULL data or their is a mix-up with the GUID in the path?

4 RepliesWon't happen bub. Bungie doesn't care about you or the experience you'll continue to have playing their game on Legacy Consoles. Consider the fact that despite all of the recent posts in this part of the forum with regard to access to rudimentary features for Legacy Console players, not 1 has been met with a Bungie employee stating that it's being worked on or that there was a glitch. It all was done on purpose and by design. And you'll see no empathy from the simple minded who come in here to ridicule you because you're apparently the source of all Destiny related problems. You should have predicted Legacy Consoles would loose support precisely in August of 2016, and above all else, you're a son of a bîtčh for even playing on a legacy platform to begin with. Your only saving grace is to upgrade if/when you're good and ready. However, I'd encourage you to use much caution when making that decision. Unprovoked, this company has already alienated you once. Do they deserve your continued support?

While I do play on a PS4 I do somewhat understand why you're upset, in terms of the app I don't think they should've disabled it for legacy users. As for Xur though, the reason why they changed him is because once RoI drops he will have to sell items from that DLC for those with access to it, yet I dunno why they did that so soon since it's just under a month till release.

May want to run your phone's browser in desktop mode though. Not sure if the PS3/360 data would show on the site for those not also using next gen. Haven't touched my ps3 version in well over a month though, so all I need is the PS4 data anyways. IDK why people are so reluctant to upgrade. So much content on next gen now...and more on the way too. Bundles keep cropping up. They just did one on Newegg last week in fact for No Man's Sky...$370 for PS4, NMS and two other games.

Its not feasible to double their potential server storage. So no, they wont be reinstating it. Plus. For what feels like the thousandth time... A dollar / pound / euro a day is nothing. Save that for a year... BAM Enough for a new console. Learn to save properly. The 360 has been out nearly 11 DAMN YEARS. The xbox one has been out nearly three years. Ergo, a dollar a day would have bought you it, a new TV and a metric -blam!- ton of games by now.

Whilst I do have sympathy, it was always going to end in tears for those who continued playing on last gen. All of a sudden last gen players have to splurge upwards of $450 (console, Destiny, RoI, online subscription) and take precautionary steps when transferring characters over (make sure you don't switch from Sony to Microsoft etc.) if they want to keep playing. You bought [u]an ever expanding game[/u] for a console way [u]past it's sell by date[/u], the writing was on the wall from day one. For a person who can afford internet and a PC/(and/or) phone/(and/or) tablet to access said forums to vent, you had plenty of time to put some cash aside on a weekly or monthly basis. You could have rectified this inevitable problem even before TTK released...

18 RepliesThis doesn't bother me at all, this game should of never released on last gen consoles. Private matches would of been here sooner, more vault space, more locations but last gen couldn't handle it. People complain about updating but try having to upgrade pc stuff to keep up with the times, a good graphics card cost 300 to 1200 dollars and people in here complain about upgrading to a $299 console.

I get where you're coming from but they can't support legacy consoles forever. I get you're only complaining about the app not working but they gave a heads up that they'd be stopping support on legacy consoles. My main theory behind them making the companion app not work on legacy is probably because of ROI. Once ROI comes out they'll probably be redesigning the app to incorporate new ROI items, etc. They can't have 2 versions of the app, one for legacy and one for current gen - even if they could, that's a lot of effort for people playing on an ~11 year old console. I'm assuming that's the same deal with Xur, you want Bungie every week to have to deal with having Xur sell new ROI items on new consoles and a whole different set of items on legacy? Same deal with dailies, weeklies, etc as they'll have the ROI content cycling through as well - it's just not worth it for them to do. Comparing this to phones, phones usually don't get new software updates past 3 years and legacy console players have still been able to play for a good ~3 years past their prime. To me that has been worth the investment and if you can't save up for a new console, that's on you - not Bungie.

Someone having an XBox 360 account still live with stale data, and the more recent XBox One account after the upgrade. Both are still playable, but there is no longer any connection between them. Different gear sets / progress / etc. And the app is probably only setup to show the Sony vs Microsoft angle... and not 360 vs One vs Ps3 vs Ps4. So, they likely just terminated the classic stuff for simplicity's sake

Bungies sure is "pissin in the wind". "3 sheets in the wind". All nautical references lol. Lost at sea.... Im not very happy with how everythings pannin out. This DLC should be free as a token of goodwill. They screwed up an had to push Destiny 2 back. Not my problem. Im not giving them anymore of my money for re hashed content. Its hilarious that they can keep re selling content to us. Actions have consequences. Regardless of their PC SJW mindset. Once the veteran staff started to leave i had serious doubts. Now they are treating last gen CUSTOMERS like crap. Good way to try an get people to upgrade.....

It was great, and I haven't even tried to use the PC yet. Making room for the new content is a feed of shit. What is it, 30 million players and they have already been looking after in effect 4 servers. How long will the game play be for Rise of Iron? - the same as TTK? All the data is still there so why not just leave the content in for the app? Deleting it to make way for new gen data is total bullshit. It's just a way to force your hand. It's the base Taken King game and that's it - running in auto mode. We have to deal with it. It's Bungie wanting money on top of micro transactions ( but they have given us a year of free content and maybe will be the same after Rise Of Iron. ) It's Activision who are the money hungry shits! Secondly, I get the next gen thing I really do, but for everyone saying we had 3 years to buy a new next gen console, do you plan everything like that 'oh I think I will save some money only for a new console just in case I play a game and they don't give enough notice for and I need to buy something. ' ITS NOT A CASE OF US NOT WANTING TO MOVE TO THE NEXT NEXT, ITS THE FACT THAT WE ARE ONCE AGAIN BEING BENT OVER THE TABLE AND OUR HANDS FORCED. It took me nearly a year to buy TTK, and will be the same for this one. Might get it cheap by then. Now before you reply to this thread saying everything under the sun, remember, we are not bitching about the expansion, the next gen consoles or the price - just give us that 'choose' to stay on the old system some comfort in form of the app. That's all.

If your a true fan of videogames, you will come up with a way to continue playing in the latest trend. Instead of crying that it's not fair for you anymore. Poor you....
