Weekly Account-Based Activities

As the title suggests, I would like to see a change regarding how weekly activities work on a player's account. Right now, daily activity completion is account-based, which is fine. However, activities such as the Raid or Nightfall are NOT account-based, which is odd given how activities should have some form of uniformity on how they are handled. What I mean is that just like Heroic Strikes (which have a weekly account-based drop count), I would like to see a (3 runs remaining) for each Nightfall and a (3 drops remaining) for each raid drop opportunity, based on the ACCOUNT as a whole. Below I'll address some important reasons/questions regarding the need for this change: How does this impact players who use only 1 class? What this change will effectively do is allow players who use 3 of the same class to just consolidate their efforts into their "main" character - you wouldn't need 2 extra "dummy characters". No more switching "placeholder gear" through the vault. No more needing to micro-manage 3 different inventories just to play your favorite class. With this change players can now load their character and play through the raid with their friends for loot up to 3 times during the week. How does this impact players with 1 of each class? Players who prefer more variety through using all 3 classes can now effectively choose how to concentrate their gear grinding efforts across their 3 classes each week. What this means is that a player who gets great luck with his Titan, but never gets any raid armor on his Hunter, can now run through the Hunter 2-3 times, in lieu of running it with their Titan or Warlock for that week if they wanted to. This helps combat against consistently bad RNG for 1 or 2 of your classes across several weeks. If players wish to use their 3 classes for the raid each once, they can still do so with no impact at all to their drops. This change is simply adding flexibility, not taking anything away. Wait, I'm still confused. How does this work with the Raid? On your companion app you can see various yellow filled "bricks" indicating that you have received a specific drop within the Raid for the week (completely filled bricks indicate that the raid is complete for the week). Now, with this proposed change, you would now see a number indicating how many times you can still get loot from THAT particular drop in the raid for the week. When you have gotten 3 drops from a specific boss or chest, the "brick" will fill as yellow like normal, indicating that that particular drop in the raid is "exhausted" for the week. Having 3 characters run the raid 3 times is fair. Why should a single character get to have that treatment? Well, technically with this system both types of players are on an even playing field now. A player with 3 characters can choose to concentrate their efforts on 1 of their classes if they wish, having the "advantage" of a player who currently uses 3 of the same class. This change actually ENCOURAGES players to have 3 different classes by giving them a way to help even out the RNG drops they get for each class. With this change, your hunter always getting the armor drop and your warlock always getting the shaft towards gear progression becomes a thing of the past. Players with just 1 class/character continue to play the class they enjoy most, without losing or gaining any mathematical "advantage" over a player who chose to diversify. Having 3 of the same class is their fault. They should have picked 1 of each class. Why should they get anything? Technically, both parties are getting something out of this proposed change. Having 1 character for many (including myself) is just simply because it's their favorite class and/or they don't have time to manage 3 different characters due to their life's needs (family, job, etc). While it is true that they chose to have one character, being able to progress as equally as others is only fair. These players have forgone the opportunity right now to play another class to progress more quickly with the class that they enjoy most or have just enough time to even play with. With these changes, ALL PLAYERS can utilize a second or third class (if they want to) without feeling like they are getting "cheated" out of their progression rate, compared to other players! Did I miss anything? I'd like to get the player base's view on this change proposal. Please do read through my responses to what I believe may be the most common responses to my proposal first. If I encounter a really good question about my proposal, I'll post it above along with my response for everyone to see.
