Alternative to Elemental Primaries

How about having an option on the subclass skill tree: when you pop super your primary now deals elemental damage of whatever type of subclass you are on?!? So it would be timed and you would not actually have a super, I would call the perk "primary infusion", your thoughts?

  • They should get a REALLY expensive or rare consumable that can be used to give a primary weapon elemental damage.

  • What they need is "elemental infusion" Each faction would have its own element FWC= Arc Dead Orbit= Void New Monarchy= Solar They would drop in packages randomly, and every primary (excluding exotics) could be infused...but make it cost 10000k Glimmer so it couldnt be "spammed," so to speak. It would force people to change up factions as the "elemental infusion matter" would be character locked. For instance, if you wanted a Solar Treads Upon Stars, but you're running FWC, youd have to switch to New Monarchy and grind it out to get a "EIM" to drop, pay the fee and BOOM you now have a Solar Treads. It will solve the problem of only having guardians using certain weapons like they did in year one with all the raid weapons, and bring people to use different aspects of the faction system. Just my idea, I'm sure theres flaws...but it could be worked out to be a bit smoother for the actual game.

    • E[b]lemental Weapon Core[/b] Purchased from Xur for ___ coins, glimmer, marks, etc, and/or found in drops from packages. Using one grants your current equipped primary (Legendary only) that element for ___ minutes. Could also be ones much rarer/expensive that are permanent.

      • It should be something to EARN NOT DEPENDING ON RNG. Something in a raid or arena challenge. I don't care about PvP because well it's PvP

        • What about if your super is charged, it gets elemental damage of that type? Only primaries

          • Maybe they could come up with a new RoI artifact: once your Super is charged, your primary does elemental damage identical to yours. Or, you lose your melee and grenade completely, but your primary gains elemental burn. My favorite idea, of course, is no resurrect Mythovclast and Necrochasm, and make the latter gun Void. That way, you can have a primary with all three elements, but at the cost of your exotic slot.

            • Rare mod that can drop from trials or raid or IB packages that allows you to add element to primary weapons. Solves the whole thing about raid primaries being the only logical choice due to element. Whatever you want can be elemental but it would be rare and the element would be fixed. Ie - IB package gives you a void element mod

            • Id say it should be an end game consumable where it imbues your weapon with the element of your subclass. Maybe have it drop after every time you complete a few checkpoints in a raid and have it be a random drop from nightfalls and strikes (not taking the place of nightfall rewards)
