We need a tiered ToO system. A tiered system that does not allow teams with huge skill gaps to play each other. Per Player: 2000+ elo, 1.5kd, 20+ flawless, and those with a high % of special weapon kills = tier one 1700 to 2000 elo, 1 to 1.5kd, 15+ flawless and moderate special weapon kills = tier 2 1400 to 1700 elo, .8 to 1.3 kd, and 10+ flawless = tier 3 1000 to 1400 elo = tier 4 Up to 1000 elo = tier 5 If 1 player on a given team has a tier 1 rating, the team plays tier 1 teams. Goal here is to completely prevent the top 1%ers from playing the bottom players. That kind of junk isnt fun for anyone. Trials should be hard, but they should be competitive for everyone. Right now, as is, its not competitive for anyone, unless top players luck out and play against top players. Edit: I propose to have fixed tiers. Each tier would be similar to choosing a control or clash lobby, except your tier is determined by data and fixed. So, everytime you load ToO you are loading your tier of ToO. The actual matchmaking system should be 100% CBMM, period. Best connection possible at that given moment. Tiers 2 through 5 can move up into tier 1 through improved play. However, tier 1 cannot move down. Propose using current data on every player to fix the tiers upon implementation. Data can be different than what I propose, Bungie has a much more accurate picture available to them. The tiers should reset every DLC ( or maintenence)( or both). Tiers 2 through 5 can move up with every weekly reset after a one month time frame of fresh data has been compiled. This would offer better analysis and more accurate trend data.
