I don't get why people are pre-ordering when they have next to no information on...well just about anything with this expansion.
We only have a month and some odd days and so far all we have seen are pieces of gameplay here and there and a VERY tiny bit of the remade cosmodrome.
Luke Smith really hit the nail on the head when he said players would just throw money at the screen for this game.

I enjoy the game, I love Bungie and I give my money to them because I want to support them.
-
I'm going to buy the dlc anyway. So why not buy it now and get it on day one, along with a sparrow and remained Ghorn.
-
Because people (myself included) will play it regardless of what content is dropped. It's a game that people enjoy and players would like to have the latest version of it.
-
That's a problem because you are showing that they can do anything as long as there is a good pre-order bonus attached to it.
-
The preorder bonus has nothing to do with it. It's a nice addition, but that's it. It costs nothing extra for me to preorder a game that I will buy when it is released anyway. You can wait to buy it if you'd like, that's your right. It will still cost $30 on 9/20 though.
-
None of the other dlcs were disappointing in the slightest so thisll be no different. At this point its preordering from a trusted company. Plus its no different preordering it or buying it when it comes out so it's better to buy when as soon as you can
-
That is most definitely a matter of opinion. If you were to look you would see that ALOT of people were not happy at all with HoW and even caused a good decline in players when they found out there as no raid.
-
You actually got it backwards. A majority was good with the dlcs. All you heard was an obnoxiously loud minority that whined like babies
-
Edited by KitsuneSonow: 8/1/2016 9:16:08 PMI played it myself, beat Skolas a few times and quite. Compared to Vanilla, Dark Below, and TTK it was very trashy and seemed rushed, not to mention it introduced a slew of useless perks for weapons. On top of this, Prison of Elders was deemed as one of the least rewarding activities in Destiny. I know a lot of people that quit shortly after as well and didn't pick Destiny back up again until shortly before or after the release of the Taken King, myself included.

Edited by KitsuneSonow: 8/1/2016 9:20:27 PMFrom Players: Destiny: 7.6 The Dark Below: 6.3 House of Wolves: 4.1 The Taken King: 8.6 House of Wolves, even among players, was the worst thing in Destiny. At least the emblem you get for beating Skolas was cool.

A majority of the people who enjoyed the game didn't waste their time writing reviews. If you like the game, why does it matter what other people think? That's a logical thought process. It's the same people that come onto these forums and bash Bungie and the game that leave negative reviews. It "isn't fair" or "I'm bored". This game has been out for 2 years and still has a strong player base. The reviews that people leave, because they had a bad experience, have no bearing on me. I form my own opinions.
-
It doesn't matter to the individual, but on the whole it does matter. It's rather illogical to assume that, just because you like something that a majority of people hate it or dislike it some form or fashion.
A majority of the people who enjoyed the game didn't waste their time writing reviews.
Also, this is completely and utterly stupid as people who both enjoy and hate the game write reviews for it and reviews help other make what is known to the rest of the -blam!-ing world as an INFORMED DECISION. Logically most people will look at a negative reviews and see that it is not worth getting or will at least ask the players what they think of the game over all. As for the "It's not fair" or "I'm bored" people it really depends on what is being talked about. People DO get bored with games over time, people are not so easily amused as others. I am sorry that this must be a new concept to you, but there ARE games outside of Destiny and Destiny is not filled with endless fun like you seem to want to believe. The not fair argument arises from a numerous reports of: -People getting kicked from activities due to random server errors. -Poor netcode due to the game being P2P and not having servers and causing a myriad of issues in both PVP and PVE. -Bungie doing jack shit to cheaters, but banning people for getting bad connection reports. -Loot drops being glitched and making it so some items are not obtainable. To top this all off we have fucking fanboys like yourself that can't seem to stand when people give the game some criticism and try your damnedest at damage control. I'm sorry that you can't seem to handle those criticisms either. This game is by no means perfect, but it is still a good game and I have fun with it from time to time still though House of Wolves was garbage. if you want further proof of that just look at how many people were angry when Prison of Elders was making a comeback and not Vault of Glass or as the very least Crota's end.

Edited by Colloquial_Bloke: 8/2/2016 12:31:18 AMTake a deep breath. Calm down. It's going to be OK. I enjoy the game, so I'm going to preorder it. You don't have to if you don't want to. Hold onto that $30 for now and wait for others to tell you if it's worth it or not. It's your money after all, why should you alone decide how to spend it?
-
The irony in this post is astounding considering the sheer amount of ass pains you were having before, but now you are doing the whole "I lost the argument so now let me tell the other guy to calm down" shtick.

Edited by Colloquial_Bloke: 8/2/2016 12:58:44 AMFine, you want to drag this out, so be it. Let's look at your previous discussion just above:
You actually got it backwards. A majority was good with the dlcs. All you heard was an obnoxiously loud minority that whined like babies

I played it myself, beat Skolas a few times and quite.
You then respond to my post with:
It doesn't matter to the individual, but on the whole it does matter. It's rather illogical to assume that, just because you like something that a majority of people hate it or dislike it some form or fashion.
You've completely altered your argument. I said that the people who enjoyed the game wouldn't waste their time writing reviews, and I believe that. Anger is far more compelling than satisfaction. You are clearly getting worked up over this issue. It's clear due to the fact that you've resorted to name calling and bypassing the chat filters. Feel free to reference your own post for examples. You aren't going to change your mind, and I'm not going to change mine. I'm not experiencing "ass pain". This is a forum about a video game. A light hearted argument is all that this ever was. Try not to take things so seriously, you might actually enjoy yourself.

I am going to play it regardless. Why not pre-order?
-
Tons of people preordered TDB & HoW together, myself included. Originally both expansions were suppose to have a raid. Guess what, they pulled the raid for HoW after many preordered. Wouldn't be surprised if the raid they pulled was the raid we are getting with RoI. Personally I'll wait to buy RoI. It might be worth the $. But I'd rather be sure before throwing my money at the screen again.
-
It fills me with joy when I see someone bringing up the Luke Smith incident. #ThrowingMoneyAtScreen
-
I will pre-order when it's available because I have over 500 hours in on this game already, and there's still more to do. That comes out to about $0.12 / hour for entertainment. Based on that information alone, it's worth pre-ordering for me.
-
How is it worth it? What information do you have? You very little of the enemies and nothing of the new activities. Basing a new expansion off a previous experience is not a good thing, just as WoW fans with the last expansion how they felt about it. This is exactly the problem I was pointing out where you are just throwing money at the screen for no reason other than you have already sunk time into the game prior. What does your prior experience mean to an expansion that is new? Absolutely nothing.
-
Why should I wait on someone else's opinion to decide to buy it? It's either a choice of trusting the game developer, or trusting game reviewers / other players. And then I'll get differing opinions from reviewers and other players. So then I have to go through the process of figuring out which of the reviewers and players I should trust. And there will most likely be enough positive reviews to make me think it's worthwhile, and then I'll still end up buying it. The only person that can know for sure if I'm going to enjoy the new expansion is me. If I spend $30 on it, and I get 10 hours of entertainment out of it, that's $3 / hour. That's still cheaper than going to a new release in a movie theater. So why not pre-order it?
-
Maybe being a bit cautious and not just trusting a company that has, for the most part, shown contempt for their players?
-
I have to decide to buy or not to buy. Given all the varied reviews of vanilla Destiny, TDB, HoW, and TTK, I can expect just as much variance for RoI. I would much rather trust my own personal experience with the game so far, and pre-order, rather than waiting until it's released and deciding to buy (because that will be my decision) once it's out.
-
What do you mean? We know there's a new raid, strike, Crucible maps & game modes, new light level, new gear, and a new story.
