There is room for improvement in Patrol
large areas of the map content go unused,
when they could easily be extending gameplay
let me give the Worst Example:
The Hellmouth / Subterranean areas on the Moon
Here we have a massive complex of underground tunnels, easily larger than the above-ground patrol area
in RPG parlance, a great Dungeon area
yet it goes unused
-there are no patrol beacons underground. if a survey beacon sends you down there, you only stay long enough to scan then retrace your steps, because there are no further activites there.
in fact I discard beacons that send me that way, because its a waste of time walking down and back
-there are no Materials to gather. not helium nor wormspore
-no Treasure Chests to loot. aren't dungeons supposed to be full of treasure so we will want to explore them???
-no midbosses to fight. maybe, just maybe I will go there if I have a Kill Hive bounty, but really that's more easily done in Rasputin's Bunker
condensed: subterranean Hellmouth: add patrol beacons, materials, chests, and add minibosses
easily doubles the size of the Moon Patrol with minimal content addition
other underutilized areas
Venus: infinite steppes and adjoining regions
Earth: The Blast, grottos areas
p.s. just what!? subforum is this supposed to go under? why is there no category for Patrol/StoryMissions? Clearly Bungie doesn't think much of the routine PvE that ought to make up the majority of the game.
COZMO:
please bring up the point: that materials and patrol beacons should be added to many unused areas of Patrol
