  • Yeah, going through unimaginable pain monthly and constantly being threatened by rapists sounds like a great life

  • Constantly? Where do you live?

  • 10% of men would -blam!- a woman if given the chance, it's not uncommon that women get -blam!-, at least 10 women were -blam!- in the time it took me to type this, so of course women are scared for their lives

  • 10% does not mean constant -blam!- threats. 10% means that 90% are good, considerate people who wouldn't. Yes, -blam!- exists. Yes, it happens more than it should. (it shouldn't happen at all) But constant is a very large stretch. At most, it's rare to get a -blam!- threat.

  • That's like placing a bowl of candy in front of you, and saying "10% of this candy is poisoned" Would you take a handful? Of course not, women don't want to take their chances

That's completely unrelated. That analogy is helpful for women looking to date, not to avoid -blam!-. And also, feminism and gender equality are very different.

  • *see main post for explanation about how feminism and gender equality, by definition, ARE the same thing* And it's definitely related, even if you're not dating, if you're a woman, you're taking a chance every time you leave the house. There's a 10% chance that your cab driver is a rapist, a 10% chance that your barber is one too, there's a 10% chance that the guy hitting on you at the bar is going to drug you and -blam!- you, it's terrifying

  • They are related, but are different. Feminism is advancing women's rights. Gender equality is advancing all gender's rights. And that 10% statistic is absurd. Was it a poll, or a psychological evaluation?

  • Boston university did a study of 2000 men, 6.5 percent were found to have committed -blam!- at some point in their lives, I rounded up with the 10%, but 6.5 is still startling.

  • 6.5% to 10% is a heavy round. You never round statistics unless its within 1%. It can severely throw off results. Also, even if it was 10%, that's about 20 people. 20 out of 2000. Which means that 1980 didn't. Hardly constitutes constant threats. Also, how are they threatened? If publicly, all she has to do is yell. If online, all you do is block.
