Petition to bring ice breaker to year 3
I absolutely love everything about this gun. I've been playing destiny since release (although I did take a long break) and im on the fence with rise of iron. Even though I was pissed about the season pass being half the dlc, I bought taken king any way and was really disappointed that they removed my favourite gun. Im not buying another dlc to be disappointed again so no ice breaker no more destiny for me. Anyone else agree?
Edit: alot of people complaining about pvp vs pve. Here's a fix they make an iron breaker with the iron banner recolour and have that one as the nerfed to hell version. And rerelease the normal coloured one with pre Nerf stats but as a caveat the og coloured one can not be used in pvp and it even auto switches to the iron version if you enter pvp with it equipped.

Could they sort the unbalance issue with PvP and PvE with PvE Exclusive weapons and PvP Exclusive weapons? For example: bring back ice breaker but make it only useable in PvE but to counter the salt that PvP players show....give them a PvP only weapon

I've loved the ice breaker since launch but it broke the pve game. Bungie even came out and said they had to adjust gameplay because of that single weapon. They were forced to modify all encounters to avoid camping/sniping all enemies. It will never come back

If a gun is gamebreaking and impossible to balance in PVP, they just need to flat out ban it. Period. Stop letting PVP ruin our fun arsenals in PVE. That is the reason I really don't play Destiny anymore. Yes, I understand the game is a grind. But after killing Oryx, after getting pretty much every exotic in the game and having every high-end legendary, I expect at least ONE of the weapons I got from endgame to be fun or reduce the grind. That hasn't happened yet. Swords are ok in some situations, but they aren't difference-makers on the scale of G-Horn pre-nerf or even icebreaker. I really have no reason to play the game anymore. None of my weapons from Y2 are what I would consider "the stuff of Legends." I still use my Y1 guns over any Y2 gun in PVP - IF i even sign on to Destiny.

Everyone used it to sit back being boring and plinking away at opponents who couldn't hit back because the AI wouldn't let them move up. Remove restrictions on AI movement and it might just work. Otherwise leave it in the garbage where it belongs.

12 RepliesNot to rain on anyones parade, but they already pretty much said it's not coming back due to the inability to plan encounters when that gun is viable in game. It break many encounters with unlimited ammo and sniper damage. Bungie's words, not mine.

328 upvotes, read through comments and you'd SWEAR it was the most unpopular idea ever! Guys n gals: we have something here i like to call the "screaming minority" and they are indeed affecting how you experience the game(pve more specifically). Doesn't Sandbox Dev Team look at this kind of stuff? It's in nearly every single thread.

This made me think about it.. nothing Bungie says is sacred. Nothing holds value. They made a HUGE suave deal about Ghorn not getting brought up. Insisted it would never be upgraded, and we'd have to get over it. They see their game declining in terms of how many people play it, that got thrown out the window. Might as well allow us to use ALL OF OUR WEAPONS AGAIN. I can't understand how guns don't have enough attack power to kill enemies simply because they're y1. Literally doesn't make sense. Again, I just want my Vision of Confluence back. I don't care about Ghorn or Icebreaker.

5 RepliesThey can't bring it back bc they cater to PvP and since Activision closed skill gap with guns by nerfing now any 5 yr old can pick up a shotgun and get 3 three kills without learning a map or reading a teams movement. So anytime you see someone asking for a nerf say thanks for adding to the kills vs skills problem

2 RepliesThey need to bring everything back from year one. Open up all the raids to drop the old gear with current stats (even if they remove the burns). Would open up the game and give everyone a ton of choices when they login. Just imagine being able to login and being able to pick which raid you want to do, and all those options giving relevant gear. Sounds a lot more fun than being pigeonholed into one raid and a handful of content.

MEGA bump. Ice Breaker is what made Destiny playable for me. If Xur hadn't sold it so early in Year 1, I would have quit before The Dark Below dropped. Let's make the unofficial Year 3 just as playable.
