It's no fun when your only secondary weapon choice is a sniper rifle. Everything else is either too inconsistent, or just irrelevant.

Idk what bungie are doing but ghost bullets have made running shotgun a very dangerous affair. Here's a thought gentlemen. Give low impact shotties the ability to get shot package.

If you learn the recoil pattern on a fusion rifle they are amazing in the close range
-
Shotguns and fusion rifles does not need to be buffed any more than what they are. Sidearms and snipers are the counter to those two respectively. You just need to know what works best.
-
Pistols have a too high damage falloff!!! I want them to be like snipers!! I would -blam!- anyone
-
I don't understand how Bungie can't just level everything out, so on average you can kill a guardian with any weapon just as easily as any other weapon. Of course some weapons will be a little better due to their stats and perks, but if I go against a doctrine of passing, or MIDA multi tool, with say any rare weapon. I shouldn't get completely wrecked, and barely scratching them. I should at least be able to take their shields down before I get killed. This of course is exacerbated by connection issues not registering all of my shots, while somehow there shots appear to do extra damage. It's like the game does not know what any of my gear is so of course I can't shoot, and have absolutely no defense. That happens when the connection issue is on their end as well which is completely ridiculous!

It's especially bad when it comes to raids. Why use a different special weapon if sniper rifles are the only ones that can effectively DPS the boss?
-
Sidearms a slight buff to accuracy..... and I mean slight. Maybe a standard hipfire perk. But other than that they are good. I have been using the hell out of different ones and crows eye is the most fun lol.
-
Some shotguns can use a little range buff but that's mainly it
-
Shotguns are fine, fusions or pretty good if you know how to use them, and side arms need a pretty big buff
-
Edited by piratepatchy243: 8/4/2016 1:10:57 AMI think fusions are in agood spot right now, good examples are the Vacancy and Thesan FR4. I don't have anything to say for the others because I rarely use them.
-
Since the taken king released in control and clash and other game modes with 6v6 the most kill usage gun is a shotgun so why are these posts about shotguns not being viable and its a sniping meta I will never understand. Fusions and sidearms. There's 0 streamers or top-tier players that even bother using them. It's always snipers and shotguns 24/7.
-
Shotguns are fine. Except for high rate of fire variants but no one would use those anyways. Some fusion archetypes are fine. Sidearms need more work on hit registration. I must be missing something, because I have a party crasher I pretty much feel like I'm cheating with when I use it. My mere k.d in a game will go from the 1 kd while using sniper to 2/2.5 with a shotgun. I think people screaming they are inconsistent is merely you got a crit at a good distance and one shot you didn't get the crit same distance later on. I main fusion so maybe I just don't use them enough but in 6v6 game modes it's the most dominating secondary. Idk maybe I'm crazy or I'm just having really good luck for at best a mediocre player, but I see no issue with shotguns. If anything they need to fix the issue of of being able to fire a shotgun before the equipping animation completes.
-
Shotguns are at a good place right now,I feel that it really only takes a good amount of skill and some momentum to utilize a good or a bad roll,I've seen my fair share of shotgunners and it's a high/risk reward kind of thing. Sidearms for me need to have their ghost bullets fixed,so therefore, more range.I don't know if this is just me but shots that I feel that should have landed did not. Fusions are also in a good spot, although it really takes effort, skill and timing to kill with it,I believe that once they've been mastered then you'll see how good and useful they really are,in some cases I've even been able to beat a shotgunner before, fusions are more for a patient play style I guess.
-
Shotguns just need shot package and increased range and handling, don't use fusions so idk about them, and sidearm need a bit more range
-
Edited by Flubble99: 8/2/2016 3:32:24 PMFusions need increased PvE damage, shotguns only need bonuses to PvE damage and the movement speed decrease when equipped reverted. Sidearms need much more range, and much faster bullet velocity. They are really inconsistent, but they have amazing potential damage output, but need a massive buff to PvE damage.
-
Edited by TheShadow: 7/31/2016 8:10:02 PMHow about Bungie actually make weapons that can compete. This why there would be no need for any nerfs or buffs... while they're at it. Make them work across the entire board like all y1 weapons did.

V bump
-
Yes to the Fusions and Sidearms. Shotguns do not need a buff, you just need a good roll.
-
I've got a God roll shotgun and other than the goast bullets the handling just needs a bump so you aren't left pulling the trigger 3 or more times waiting for the damn thing to fire. Fusions seem to work just fine, I don't use them but I've gone up against people who wreck with them. I've used sidearms allot and they need allot more range. Your usually being out gunned by hand cannons because they are outside of your range and getting too close makes you extremely venerable to shotguns, grenades, warlock melee, TLW, etc. The recoil alone should be enough to balance this out, it's not like you can spam the trigger and reliably hit someone who is mid range.
-
Shotguns, fix the inconsistency, handling, and bring shot package back. Fusions, just give my vex it's damage back and I'll be happy. Side arms, garbage I never use them. Snipers, they give me aids.
-
I agree, shotguns and fusions are unreliable. One match they work as they should, the next match they may not.
-
As a side arm user....side arms are already beast man. Just get the right perks and your good to go
