In all honesty I don't get how blizzard can get away with overwatch. Don't get me wrong it's a good game and I have fun with it but at least from what I saw leading up to it, it's just such a disappointment. Now maybe I didn't do my research and it was never advertised as a big game, but it honestly seems to have less content than day 1 destiny (which was also a disappointment). So many people were upset about the lack of content in games like titanfall, destiny, evolve and all those disappointments, but when blizzard releases a game with just fps pvp, it's praised...I don't get it. Characters are awesome and the gameplay is fun and the graphics are unique and cool but there's really only one mode that's it. Good game, but I don't see how people can like overwatch and then trash games like destiny and titanfall.

A few reasons. 1: it was released for $40, a below AAA price (only on PC but that's the majority of their fans). 2: the game was never advertised wrongly, it is exactly what the devs said it would be. None of info given about it since the beginning was misleading. 3: the game released with solid multiplayer. great servers, very few balance issues, virtually no bugs, everything already unlocked. 4: promise of all future content being free. 5: incredibly fun game, very competitive and very accessible. 6: people have become more accepting of multiplayer only games over the last few years. Nearly everyone is always online now anyways so giving an always online game is no big deal now for most.

I did pay 60 for ps4 and I was mislead by the advertisements. Both of which I guess are my own fault. I completely agree about the servers and the quality of gameplay tho. Idk it just let me down and like I said thats probably my own fault. I was expecting an open world game with some kind of fps Pixar type storyline lmao. People playing to the objective would be nice too from time to time, just sayin.
I was expecting an open world game with some kind of fps Pixar type storyline lmao.
Honestly the videos they put out with their lore actually looks like it would be pretty good with that. However any story/lore is tossed out the window the second any match starts.

Exactly! It's really well polished and plays really smooth but it's just...it's like marvel civil war if they never made any predecessing movies. Why are they fighting? Aren't they supposed to be on the same team? Why am I learning the story thru YouTube videos? Are there opposing forces? If so where are they? https://youtu.be/IydZOlx2yrc

They have a huge cult following

Not to be argumentative but that only justifies so much. Certainly not the game I got compared to the videos I thought were advertising the story to be. If they took the money they spent with those stupid (cool, but stupid) animated shorts, we could've had a way better game. Bungie had a pretty solid following from halo, but they didn't get away with it...

You'd be surprised by blizzard and it's followers

Edited by CircusOfValuues: 7/28/2016 3:10:07 AMAbsolutely no way I can argue that. And they deserve that, never played WoW but I did play warcraft 3 wrath of the litch king and I was in love with that game for years. So good point I suppose. You're right all around, I just wanted/expected more, stupid in these times I suppose.
