Why you should play all 3 classes

*EDIT* Thank you all for the positive feedback on this post, it's hard to come by on the forums a lot of the time. So in light of this, cheers and long live Destiny and its faithful community! Alright, now before I share my opinion, I would like to acknowledge that not everyone plays all 3 classes, and not everyone WANTS to play all of them. With that being said, try and keep an open mind. I genuinely understand that some of you don't have time to work on all three classes, this is just for those who main one class and don't venture into the others, and cause a ruckus in the forums for nerfs. Okie dokie then.. Back with the release of Destiny, I used to be a Hunter main(sure, go ahead and throw your tomatoes). With college, I only had time for one character a week, so it was fitting. I decided to go with the play style I enjoyed the most. I wasn't crazy about gunslinger so I stuck with Bladedancer almost all of the time. The fun levels were off the charts. I had no complaints about the game because I honestly wasn't that good. I had like a .57 kd on that character, got steamrolled every time I entered a crucible match. It was different from my COD days so I just wanted a game that was less intense and more fun across the boards. Destiny delivered that and much more, if you ask me. But anyway. After I got my hunter to 32 during the dark below, I decided that my experience was getting stale, gunslinger was maxed out at this point, along with my blade. So I created a warlock.... At the release of TTK I completed my trio with a Titan. But I never played it past level 35 until the April update. So here I am, 2 years later, over 1.0 Kd's on all my characters. A lot of this may not seem relevant to my opinion, but I'm just giving a bit of insight into my process with this game. I've heard all the complaints, all the cries to nerfs. But I do have some things to say to you all: Playing all 3 characters will improve the experience you have with this game. Titans aren't overpowered, warlocks aren't weak, and hunters aren't just for noobs. So to the hunter mains that havent created or put any time into other characters, give it a try. None of the classes in this game are weak, and maining one character and crying nerf for the other classes only hurts this community and degrades Destiny as a whole. There are a lot of you who do in fact play all three and still find things to be "too OP", and you have the right to your own opinion. So gunslingers, break out those bladedancers. Warlocks, break out those fusion grenades. And Titans, show everyone that hammer of sol and defender truly aren't weak. This game is a ton of fun, including ALL of the classes. Am I an expert at destiny? Freak no. But playing all 3 classes has helped me enjoy the game without complaining, and I believe it will help you exclusive class players understand why things are the way they are. So try something new, you won't regret it. Thanks for the time, if you actually read this. Feel free to friendly discussions below!

I can't agree with you. I play all 3 classes I know them extreamly well in crucible titan>warlock>hunter. the question ur asking is why do you think that titan has a piece of armor that allows you to get a overshield everytime u kill someone with a shotgun. now if u use this with a defender titan and know what your doing you urself can kill a entire 6man team by yourself if u know what your doing having a overshield 24/7. warlock not as bad but has the ability to titan smash then kill ur entire team and theirs very little u can do about it can it being stoped. yes so its not as bad as a titans armor abilities but lets not forget the grenade abilities that can shread a team of 3/4 ppl with just 1 of them using a piece of armor. . finally we have a hunter which can teather? lets see who teather doesn't help you much even if use it to stop someone supper its not enough to actually help the team. many players use blade dancer this is nice except for moment that u die from 1 shot to head by a shotgun which I do to people all the time its reach and limits are to low of value you could almost triple the length of arc blades to people and it would not solve hunters are the easiest thing to kill. I'm not sayan things need nerfs what I'm sayan is buff what needs to be buffed like compareing a auto rifle now to a good pulse rifle auto riffle =trash can which imo this is bad this gives the players with elites/scuffs a advantage over every other player in the game even if they use a scont riffle these are the two biggiest things I see wrong with the game today. auto riffle should always be bis for all people. no one single player can have a adv over using them its fair for everyone/ hunter/warlocks need some tweeks in their armor to give them a ability hold their own. I played all 3 classes and I can say this going from a 1.2kd from a hunter to a warlock with 1.6kd to a titan with a 28kd all I did was spawn kill repeatedly because I always had a overshield.

    • I wish i could make a warlock (i'm not a warlock main) but it took a while to get my titan up to speed with my hunter. It will take a long time to get a warlock up to speed but i guess it's worth it

      • I main Hunter but have put my fair share of work into all 3 classes. The only thing that seems op to me is warlocks SUPER -blam!-ING long MELEE. U know the one that doubles the ALREADY LONGEST DISTANCE. That's a bit broke imo.

Nice post and agree with you; most people complain because they never used the other "op" class or weapon (or don't know how to use it right, and is offended when others do). Your opinion on Sunbreakers though, that's because you only played with it recently. When TTK launched, it was my favorite subclass - and no, I didn't used it to destroy people in the crucible, never was a fan of it (I like IB to be honest). It was the best pve choice. Then came the neutering, which was unnecessary in pve. Now I just equip it for solar bounties in PoE. And that's it. No, it's not a horrible sub, but I know how fun it was to play with the original, and now .... it's just ... meh.

Never understood why some, or most, players only play one or two classes. If it's for gear, that's no longer necessary. Plus, those are typically the type of players who are biased, and tend to bitch and moan, and demand nerfs to the class(es) they don't use/have because they lack any sort of understanding about how they work, only basing their opinions solely on how they seem on the receiving end.

*Sigh* You not knowing that warlocks mostly use fusion nades now shows that you aren't that experienced at playing a Sunsinger. Every other grenade is absolute garbage now since 3.2 on Sunsingers. But what can you expect from a Hunter main?

        • I am a serious hunter main: I have 30+ days on it. Where as my other classes have like 7 days. But I love how sometimes when I break out my Titan or warlock I actually do better in crucible than my hunter lol. It's liberating to try something new for sure. Thanks for this post! I think that definitely keeps destiny fresh

          • im anti blade dancer. i play every subclass except blade dancer. im racist against blade dancer. ha ha it is fun though to play other subclasses i mained a warlock for along time and i enjoy certain subclasses from certain classes. I love playing gunslinger and defender titan and sunbreaker!! i found it was not that i found all warlock subclasses fun but certain subclasses from each class i really enjoyed. sunsinger was nerfed so instead of play the other not so fun warlock subclass i started playing more titan and gunslinger.

            • And one more thing: if you play all 3 classes, (and a bit of all subclasses), you know better what to expect of them, their weaknesses, and how to counter them, ie you make your crucible life easier...

              • I agree with you I do play all three classes on all 3 subclasses and typically I destroy people and have fun. But there is still the problem with if I want to play as a certain class I can't because the class isnt special in its own way either due to nerfs or other classes being MUCH better than what I want to play as. And dat ain't right fam. All classes should be good at there own things. Warlocks have best grenades and melee abilities hunters have abilities of taking out a small amount of strong ads or have the ability to take out a lot of small ads or to support there team and titans can support or clear an area takeover an area or push into an area with there abilities

              • Well said. I mostly play hunter as well, but I've played my other classes a fair amount. People should not have the right to call for changes when they haven't tried the class themselves.

              • Playing all three classes and all nine subclasses (it seems like a lot when you phrase it like that, huh?) will not only make your life in Destiny more varied, but it'll also teach you how to fight the other classes better. The old 'Know Your Enemy' saying applies well here. I did the same damn thing in order of Warlock->Hunter->Titan and I found that once I'd played as a Hunter for a while I was far better in encounters with Hunters even on the Warlock. Same for the Titan when I made one. You'll see your ability to recognize the unique threat and possible threats different classes pose once you've used them a while because you know what they can do to people; you've done those things to people now.

                • I've played all three since just after TDB, I play each pretty evenly mainly in PVE. To some this may not be a big accomplishment in the game. But my goal was to run relic on Oryx on each subclass. A few weeks ago I ran it on my Titan, was actually faster than my hunter which I run the most on relic. Some have all three but will main one the most, it can sometimes show as the jumping can be the part that is the hardest.

                • Ive played all 3 from the point I got destiny never really wanted to main a certain class, id probably be slightly better in pvp if I did though.

                • I played all 3 classes for a long time. Then, shortly after I got the class-specific exotics, I started deleting my Hunter and Titan. I don't like the Hunter at all - the jump is literally trash for me. Titan I actually don't mind playing, but only the Defender. I figured that having 3 of the one class I actually play the most and am also the most comfortable with was the best move. I have my main Warlock, which I have had since Day 1, that has all my quest completion and game progress - the other two Warlocks merely exist to give me a total of 3 raid runs/weekly lockout drops per week. It is very freeing to have a small collection of my favorite exotics and not have to switch gears with a different jump every time I switch characters. I know this doesn't appeal to many, but it works for me - especially since I only just returned after nearly a 9-month hiatus.

                • I played hunter during year 1 just because my friends who I played with picked warlock and titan, I only played for a few months but when I came back I created a titan and a warlock and personally find titan the most fun to play

                • I play three Titans and I love them like my own children (except maybe the Awoken one; he looks a little too much like Zavala). I had a Warlock up through TTK but the jump was just so different from that of my main Titan that I just couldn't get used to it. Ive never cried nerf. Yes, Hunters do get on my nerves every now and again, but you learn to adapt and deal with it.

                  • I main a hunter and have maxed all 3 classes but now just run 2 hunters and a Titan. And barely play Titan. I don't approve any nerfs, I will consider a buff if a weapon is performing like crap. I enjoy the game playing my hunter because I grew up wth jumping and double jump. Throwing knives are familiar and the smoke Nades are too great to not use.
