WOW - You guys sure did mess up Sunsingers!

I know this has been brought up a lot so, sorry for beating a dead horse. The nerfs have been slowly killing my play time and I went from playing every day to playing once every week or less (never ever thought I would start to play so little like I have - thanks streamers, youtubers and their lemmings and especially you Bungie for listening to them). I know how out of hand these nerfs have gotten and I have been as anti-Bungie as anyone lately but even I was like "man, Sunsingers can't be this bad, I'll reserve judgement until I play for myself". So I finally got on and played this weekend. WOW. I mean holy fuq W-O-W dude you guys just took a massive, frothy, swamp bog, day after beer drinking dump all over Sunsingers. Oh my fuq. Let me state that this is PvE related. So you PvP only players I guess can leave because I know this is below you. There is probably a Trials stream you need to get to you so you can regurgitate what needs to be nerfed next. (Sorry to be an ass but let's face it, Trials is what got Sunsingers shat on because it was "annoying" or "frustrating" lmfao. The most sound reason to nerf anything ever! Was it OP? Nah. But it sure was [b]ANNOYING[/b]!!!! Better nerf it asap!) Anyway, I'm a Day 1 player and Warlock main. This was my first time really playing my Sunsinger since the last patch of nerfs. I used my favorite load out which has been the same since Y1 on my Sunsinger: Solar grenades, Sunbreaker gauntlets, Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame. I also had on a double max of intellect and discipline both over 300. With this load out pre recent nerf I could go into, say, Undying Mind and during the final fight when you would have nothing but majors spawn in a circle at times I could pop Sunsinger and melt everything and produce 7 orbs. Now, pfft now I kill [b]maybe[/b] 2 gold bars and on average was producing a whopping 1....ONE....orb. Hell, the grenades have a hard time killing any normal enemies now. What did Solar grenades do to anyone? Is it the burn itself in general that makes the grenades so weak now or were the grenades targeted? Either way, doesn't matter, this wouldn't be an issue had you just left Sunsingers alone. This game is basically becoming a meme representing nerfs and crying babies. I mean sure, I guess Sunsinger is still useful because you get an extra life. I guess Flame Shield is still decent. Sure, you can use Fusion nades but not everyone likes those (myself included). You guys rendered a whole class very close to being useless and damn sure made an Exotic (Sunbreakers) quite useless. Good job guys! Can't wait to pre order my nerfed Iron Gally! PS - I play all 3 characters and was not in favor of Hunters getting shat on either. I fear for my Titan and it's brothers and sisters because they are clearly next in line to get destroyed. Boy I can't wait to throw my money at the screen. But that's more or less just an anecdotal story, right guys?! ;) EDIT: I do use Fireborn but with my max discipline and intellect set up I can chuck 9 grenades from start to finish. This always use to net me 7 orbs. Now it does not.

  • Messed up as in got rid of every warlock's signiture crutch, firebolt grenade tag. Yes. They've fix it now. Fusion grenades are better anyway right now.

    • Yup, they took something away without adding something back. The stacking grenade burn isn't worth crap in PVP. They should have made the super either better at supporting team mates or have a more aggressive option.

    • I have one of each class, predominantly using my Hunter for PvP and my Warlock and Titan for PvE. Totally agree with your comments and the individuals responsible, those You Tubers and Twitch streamers to whom Bungie pays so much attention, for the problems we ordinary players are now experiencing. I am finding myself getting more and more irritated by the constant changes which seem to benefit no one except streamers and You Tubers.

    • Solar grenades are my favorite grenades in the entire game, but now ever sense this nerf, gawd dayum, they are the worst grenade to ever exist now, an my exotic gauntlets were royally, no lube, all dry, brutally -blam!- as well. The burn being reduced was fine, but they broke its damage proc, now it BARELY even registers hits, Its to SLOW to do ANYTHING. In my point of view, it was entirely the best grenade in the entire game, an now it's solely become THE WORST grenade ever to be used.

    • You could have cut out the first three paragraphs and had a much better argument. They had nothing to do with [i]why[/i] Sunsingers are broken, and I nearly stopped reading.

        The VF nerf made them less effective. Not only that, but they bugged solar style grenades where they now tick for less damage. I'm starting to believe that's not a bug, and a stealth nerf that they won't admit to. Sadly though, I can't use the subclass effectively anymore.

        • They haven't done anything to Solar. I have no problem getting 7 orbs every time. If you are using Fireborn, it will reduce your radiance time. It's meant for self res. If you want to get kills with it, use Song of Flame or Radiant Skin.

          • Solar Grenades and other solar burn sources are bugged right now. You can literally stand in the solar burners on the Shield Brothers strike and it will do so little damage that you actually regenerate your health to the point where it does no damage. Also Viking Funeral is bugged because it actually increases an enemy's defense.

            • Everything that bungie touched from day one (everything) got wors and make the game less fun. I'm on the point of cancel my RoI pre order. Nerf, upon nerf, upon nerf. And that gjallarwing publicy stunt was lame as -blam!-, if anything, made me less inclined to buy RoI.

              • Solar grenades have seemed like weak sauce since the last round of nerfs. Enemies walking right through them. I've got to toss two at the same crowd to do any serious damage.
