Nirwen's Mercy basically useless?
Doesn't feel like I can get a whole lot of kills despite it's amazing stability and perks. Was it nerfed into the ground? I remember it used to wreck havoc a while back...

1 ReplySaladin sold an awesome roll on a terrible weapon. Bungie made it terrible when they nerfed the low ROF pulse rifles.

Bungie dropped the damage and fire rate so it's almost useless only time i get killed or get a kill with it is when someone else does all the work

I like to use it for an infuse weapon to heighten my other guns' light levels. Kinda disappointed I didn't get more.

It's just a poopier hawksaw. 3 burst kill but way slower

8 RepliesThe problem with Nirwen's is that it takes three bursts to kill someone. Hawksaw, PDX-45 and Grasp of Malok take three as well. People will use the weapon with the fastest time to kill and that isn't Nirwen's anymore. You can kill people with it but against good opponents you're going to get wrecked since so many other guns out-shoot Nirwen's.

Really?!?! I never used it when it was "good"/before the nerf. It might just be because I'm only light lvl 314 and haven't experienced much with other pulse rifles, but I feel like it wreaks in pvp (especially head shots) and is pretty soil in pve.

yea.... i swore that it fired faster once i got it i was soo surprised that it fired so slow that i almost farted...

I destroyed with it, then came the nerf (last winter some time?) and I stopped using it. But I wouldn't say it's totally useless; there was a match a couple days ago when someone killed me with it a couple of times.

I used it pretty effectively on a few maps. It's a good pulse rifle regardless of what people are saying down below. Although when I compare it to my Pre-patch vendor villany with Rangefinder + 3rd eye, it is basically the SAME gun as Nirwin's, but with slightly more range stability and reload than the Nirwens, even without accounting for the additional range from range finder. They both do the same amount of damage. The Villany will just reach out and hit harder at a longer range which makes it a superior gun IMO. But Nirwen's is not bad at all.

Yeah but when they piledrive low rof pulse rifles either the mercy or Lyudmilla will reign again.

27 RepliesHonestly, I'd strongly disagree. I used Nirwen's Mercy for the first time this Iron Banner, and I was able to consistently 3-shot most people, even though the majority of them were a higher level than me. You just have to use it in the right situation, and you can't afford to miss your shots. Mine has counterbalance and braced frame, so it can outgun most people from medium to long range.

1 ReplyIt is. However, it would be a good idea to keep a god roll one in the vault in case they fix pulse rifles in the next update. That thing used to be monster and maybe it will again after the next weapon tuning update.

38 RepliesI quite like the NM right now… It can outgun Mida and Grasp if you consistently land headshots. Mine dropped with outlaw, braced frame and glass half full.

3 RepliesJust use mida. I've spent countless hours on farming packages and simply just playing the game. To get loads of weapons. One thing I can say is. Mida is still the king. Switch is actually sad all other guns suck

It's less about Nirwen's itself and more about the state of primary weapons in general as they keep getting nerfed left and right.

It doesn't flow as well as the several pdx45 I have or the grasp I use either... Just another gun for the collection till I get tired of looking at it.
