In game it was said they were mercenaries who traveled outside of the city. So how many are there? And how powerful is that titan who directed us at the Forge? Im wondering...can titans become even more powerful to the point that they can blatantly ignore the city? Or any guardian? Cuz i dont think there are many guardians left lore-wise.

Sunbreakers left because of Zavala's opinion of them. I believe they said the Sunbreakers are some of the strongest Titans.

There are guardians who have left of their won accord. The Sunbreakers are the type of Guardians that believes in a "hunt them down and finish them" way of protecting the Light, rather than waiting for the enemy to come to us like they did at Six Fronts and Twilight Gap. I imagine through this they have accomplished quite a bit. They also work for Osiris. He tried to form a contract between them and the Tower but Zavala refused so they hate him now.

I think there were quite a few Sunbreakers who left the city, during the mission where you become a Sunbreaker, you can see multiple dead Titans killed by the Vex all wearing Sunbreaker armour. I think they must have been in a separate group.

Titans could leave. But it's more about the personality. Why run from those you protect? No coward am I.

The Sunbreaker Mercenary Group are a bunch of bitches. An entire team of them got wiped out by a single Hydra

I'd imagine anywhere from a couple dozen to a hundred or so. They're a massive minority within the population of guardians which is probably only 10,000 as an absolute max.

Edited by A Tigerstorm: 7/22/2016 11:23:52 PMWell tell me. Do you get goosebumps when you hear this?
CHINK!!!!
If you do, then you're dead. And almost everyone I know gets goosebumps when they hear it. So I believe it may not be many sunbreakers since they're so powerful.

The number of mercenary sunbreakers is unknown, but there have been a handfull of Guardian factions who left the city. Most notably the sunbreakers. The firebreak titan order mainly operates outside of the city and does not follow its defensive strategy. I think the Binary Star Cult would also be outcasts since they view the Traveler as an enemy. Also there was a bloody faction war that nearly tore the city apart. Do not be fooled by the high walls and pretty banners. The city is an illusion of safety and power.

Not without a warlock to tell them what to do.

Well, after that massive nerf from bungo.... I don't think they'll be merc-Ing around much.

We don't know nothing about the others Sunbreakers. Even in the Crucible Sunbreakers are rare
