This thing called "balance"

A friend told me what his idea of a balanced crucible would be after talking about the insane amount of times blade has been nerfed. It sounded pretty interesting & it would be a very refreshing change allowing so much more variety. Maybe a few things like OG versions of "certain exotics" should never be how they were but either way it it'd be more fun. I'll quote him here: [quote]"true balance" would be reversing all patches outside of glitches back to launch day, outside of sunbreaker and bladedance super armour nerfs, reverse firebolt and viking funeral, but reduce burn time added by vf by half, reversing doctines damage nerf but instead reducing base stability and mag on high RoF autos, by say 10 and 5 respectively. High impact pulses 2 burst again, high impact auto rifles aren't always discarded, hand cannons have hit reg back, hawkmoon can 2 tap but not OHK. Shot guns get a single range nerf, special ammo econ is better, primary gun fights happen more often because everything is viable and cbmm. Storm caller melee is reduced 12.5% where amplitude takes a 10% reduction. Double shade step but with a 6 second cool down rather than 1 shade with a 3 second. Heavy is taken out of all playlists but 6v6. And there we have it, true balance [/quote] What's your idea of balance? How would you change PvP or PvE if you could?

  • Yes, I fully agree! Hawkmoon needs to return to its fomer stats in my opinion. Ghost bullets on the hawkmoon needs to be corrected or simply just fixed. All heavy should be taken out the Playlist besides 6v6. That's a really great idea! The recent patches have made things worst. Reverse those changes and fix the hit detection on weapons and melee registration. Year 1 subclasses were fine. I believe that all exotics need to be buffed. They are exotics for a reason and they should be hard to get. But everything that was listed needs to happen immediately before Rise of iron.

    • Destiny at its core is a game that will never be balanced. It's simply not possible unless every guardian going into the crucible has the same exact abilities and weapons.

        • True balance is: • All amour perks are the same for all • Supers, melee and grenades charge at the same speed for everyone. • All weapons within an archetype have the same time to kill. • Primaries buffed across the board so they can compete with special weapons. • Light level should not matter in competitive playlists. • Maps should have no dominant spawns! There are other things to consider to make a truly balanced game, like the removal or supers (because they will always be unbalanced due to them being vastly different). However changing all of this would not be destiny. Bungie made balanced pvp games... Remember Halo. Destiny is just too complex.
