Design Your Own Raid!

Alright people, I know how creative this community can get. I also know how thirsty for new endgame content we all are. We've gotta have some ideas for our own raids by now, so let's hear it! You don't have to design a full raid. Just an encounter if you choose. But feel free to post an entire raid, with backstory and rewards and everything if you please! Alright, here goes my attempt, for now it's just 1 encounter but I'll see if I can expand on it later. ----------------------------------------- Cabal Raid Location: Cabal Fleetbase, Phobos Encounter is located in a large room with spawn gates all around the edges of it. There are 4 glowing plates around the room in a circle, all equidistant from each other. There are various bits of cover around the room but nothing incredibly substantial. You walk into a room with a few various Cabal soldiers in it. Clear them out to start the encounter. When all soldiers are dead, the room begins to rumble and a Cabal Valus bursts through the roof into the center of the room, breaking the entire roof and revealing a smoky sky above. The Valus is shielded and the shield is immune to damage. His weapons are a solar cannon somewhat similar to the Sleeper Simulant, which he fires infrequently but it does a massive amount of damage. It will say he is "charging up" when he is about to fire it. He will fire at a Guardian in his sight. He also has an arc gauntlet that he slams into the floor and releases a shockwave in a small area around him in case a Guardian gets to close. A substantial group of Cabal will emerge from spawngates all around the room. A Shieldbearer and a Bracus will spawn on opposite sides of the room from each other. The Bracus also has immunity shields. Killing the Shieldbearer will make him drop the Relic, his modified Phalanx Shield. The Shield will work similar to the Vault of Glass Aegis, but movement speed is slightly decreased and blocking with it will only protect from the direction you are facing and will only protect you and you are immobile while blocking. Kill the Shieldbearer and collect the Relic. When the Valus charges his shot, block the shot with the Relic (so make sure the Relic Holder is the only one in the Valus' sightline when charging). This will Supercharge the Shield, which will fire a bolt of energy when the Super is used. Use the Super to take down the Bracus' shields. The Relic will disappear. Killing the Bracus will trigger the Valus into jetpacking up into the smoke above the arena. In 10-25 seconds, he will come back down, on top of a randomly selected player. The player he is targeting will get a ring around them about 2 seconds before the Valus lands to show where he will land and vacate the area (no other player can see this ring but the one targeted). If somebody is underneath the Valus when he lands they will be killed instantly. When the Valus lands, he will release a shockwave that travels across the arena on impact with the floor. Jump over the shockwave to survive; if you don't you will be killed. When the Valus jumps up into the air, make him smash down on one of the 4 glowing plates. (To make sure he lands on one of the plates, have all Guardians standing on them. But if a plate is being shared with other players and you are chosen to be landed on, they will not know and you must call it out so they do not die) When a plate is landed on it will release a massive amount of arc energy, which will take the light out of the plate and down the Valus' shields and stun him, allowing you to do damage. After 20 seconds his shield would come back, and you would rinse and repeat. Enrage would be after the Valus makes 6 leaps and is not killed or after all 4 plates are used up and he is not killed. Enrage would make the Valus release a shockwave, but it would keep the floor electrified and would therefor cause all players to die. On Hard Mode, there are obviously no respawns. The Valus would also fire his rail gun faster and only 1 plate would be lit up at a time. Enrage would also happen on 5 jumps without a kill instead of 6.

  • Unlikely Allies (Strike Concept) Mission Location: Moon - Within the Crota's End Raid area. Fly-in briefing: "We thought you had cleared this place out, Guardian. But now our scans are picking up activity again. What's more, they're picking up Fallen signals also. Investigate this at once... but be careful." (Ikora) Strike starts in the Stills, no Weight of Darkness this time, but there are still waves of Thrall that attack. Halfway through, instead of a Knight, there is an Exile Captain among the Thrall (they won't attack each other). Upon reaching the first bridge, while it is constructing, three Captains and a Knight will spawn. When you reach the Oversoul Throne, the bridge there will already be made. But on both sides of the bridge will be High Servitors, they must both be killed for the door to open. Waves of Dregs will constantly spawn in until they are defeated. The Shrieker hall is empty. When you drop down into the raid area proper, at first nothing will be shown. Make your way to where Crota normally stands, and pull out your Ghost to scan the area. As he begins the scan, Thrall and Dregs will spawn in. Clear out this first wave to reveal the boss: Vykris, Kell of Exile and Izlor, Ascendant (Wizard). Fight plays out similar to Mengor and Cra'adug from Court of Oryx, where the enemies won't be able to be damaged unless they are near each other. If Vykris is defeated first, Izlor will gain boosted attack speed and damage. If Izlor is defeated first, Vykris gains the boost. Either way, halfway through each of their health bars (so twice per run), an Exalted Ogre and an Elder High Servitor will spawn, these must be killed first (they will shield both bosses). Rewards include: Mark of Exile (Emblem) (Guaranteed per first run) Ascendant Exile (Exotic Arc Fusion Rifle - Very Fast Charge Rate - Fires projectiles like a Boomer instead of Fusion Spread) Elinksi's Dream (Exotic Special-Slot Arc Pulse Rifle - Fires 3 homing shots like the Vandal's weapon) (1% chance for the exotics to drop)

    • I have always imagined a cabal encounter like this. A large phalanx archetype enemy that is heavily shielded. Essentially there will be sets of pads around the room that open tunnels. Fire teams would split into groups of 3 2 members per team would be on plates/adds. The 2 players open the gate for a third who would run through the tunnels they open that lead to different parts of the bosses body. The members on plates have hold off adds from getting into the tunnels from behind the runners and the runners would have to shotgun/shoulder charge enemies and dodge obstacles ahead of them. Once the runners make it to the ends of their tunnels they will have to take out the phalanx' armor for the part of the body their tunnel leads to, and their team with have to disable the body part when it is vulnerable. Once the body parts are disabled he will go into a second phase where a heavy weapon of sorts (perhaps turrets controlled by adds) is shooting at the team as they scale the barriers around him to get to his head. Once the whole team is up disabling the head shield and one more round of DPS will finish off the head and kill him.
