Nightstalker or Bladedancer?

Nightstalker

87

Bladedaner

78

please explain why? I started as a bladedancer, played my first few months with it exclusively. got good at it, loved it. then I switched to my nighstalker a few months ago and have been obsessed. something about the bow, the voidwall, invis grenades and shadestep just get me. but I still love bladedancer. which would be better for pvp? I always use nighstalker as backup for my team in pve but for pvp I see advantages to both

  • I like Nightstalker, but it isn't because one is better than the other. Nightstalkers are great for trapping, I mean, walls of flames, supers that anchor characters to them, smoke that makes it hard to target people and can be used to force people out of hiding, they're set to seize people's movement. Bladedancers are cool, but I don't like the risk that comes with flinging yourself into the enemy to use your super. Blink Strike can OHKO sometimes, which is great, but when that fails, there is a slight opening, and hunters are really fragile. Their grenades are purely meant for damage, they aren't super versatile. I always like Void Grenades (Postmortem kills forever) and they don't have those :( Personally, I choose Nightstalker, but again, it's all a matter of preference.

    • You even said yourself man the invis smoke , shadestep , the void anchoring people or using quiver to get a triple kill in PVP , the blade dancer is nowhere as fun as nightstalker especially making all the light orbs drop with the black hole and light of the pack perk lol

I think in general it is better to use blade dancer for pvp because night stalker is based on utility (effects that aren't purely for damage i.e.: tether and blinding melee grenades)but it is super fun to try and use that utility in crucible with what I call a trapper build. Blackhole, snare, lockdown, predator. Really fun and pretty decent if you know how to apply utility abilities in crucible rather than pure damage

    • Personally I would use Nightstalker for a powerful zone control-esk build. It also provides great support for your team, that is if you have that much communication, and you stay close. I'm not too good with giving advice... So; instead, I'll create a rundown of what games look like for me when I play my Nightstalker below it may help you. Nightstalker My gear
Okay, so for exotics I run Monte Carlo, and the Sealed Ahamkaras Grasps. These work wonders when paired, and are not nearly effective alone. If you run Snare (NOT Envenomed!!) your enemy in PVP can't jump, can't run, and sensitivity is diminished to nearly anything. So why the Monte Carlo? To get more smoke grenades of course! Also running High Caliber plus the Snare makes it almost impossible for your attacker to win the gunfight. How can you lose a gunfight against something that has crippled mobility, horrible aim, and a red shaking foggy screen?
