My wife and I are going through the Netflix collection of ITV's "Agatha Christie's Poirot". If you've not watched it, but like/liked either of the Holmes series (the current Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch or the classic series with Jeremy Brett), it is a collection of really well done shows.
Last night, watching an episode, I sit up and say "Hey, that's The Doctor!" when I see a very young Peter Capaldi. Of course, my wife was not impressed. But I can't help but point out actors who've played The Doctor when I see them in other television shows or films.

Huh, I never knew Poirot was on Netflix. Gonna have to start watching it now.

Oh my gosh, my best friend loves this show. I have never watched an episode.

What impresses me most about the series is that even right from the start, when it is clear that production budgets were low, that they managed to capture the look, feel and atmosphere of England, Europe and various other locales in the time between the two World Wars. The exteriors, sets, costumes, props, automobiles, aircraft (though they did show a Spitfire as a secret project far before its actual time) were all exceptional.

Both Poirot and Marple are great. I would recommend all the old classics, and if you haven't seen it already, Benedict Cumberbatch stars in Murder Is Easy.

There was a Miss Marple series derived from her stories as well. I could never get into that particular series, but the Poirot series is quite good IMO.
