Look at the video again genius. He isn't " slammed " into the ground he is dropped from like 8 inches off the ground and he should have listened the only reason he didn't get out is he was probably hiding something if he was an honest citizen he would obey with out a problem because there is nothing to hide if he is honest so he got tazed because the cop had probable cause.

  • Really? A court ruled against the Officer and sentenced him to 4 years. Citing the violation of the younge teen's rights and causing injury.

  • The cop used excessive force. He tased him much longer than the standard time, which led to the kid having brain damage. As it turns out, the kid did have some marijuana in the car. But the cop had no probable cause on this. He thought his car was linked to a stolen vehicle. He was wrong.

  • Still the kid was disobeying a cop which is stupid which probably set off alarm bells in the cops head. Protocol States ( don't quote me on this) if a police officer has been denied he can use force ( the taser ). The kid was in the wrong and still the cop thought the car was stolen so he pulled him over, the kid wouldn't get out because he was hiding drugs, so the cop to told him to get out not once but like four times so the bells went off saying something's wrong in the cops head so he had probable cause the kid still said no so he got razed and there is no standard time for using a taser. The kid probably had a condition or he was on drugs so that's why he went into a coma.

  • He got brain damage because the cop tased him way longer than the correct time. Not sure of the correct numbers, but I think standard time is about 10 seconds and the cop tased the kid for about 30? I'd have to look it up. Regardless, you are well within your rights to question a police officer. If a police officer comes up to you on the street and attempts to arrest you, you are well within your rights to ask him what you did. And cops cannot legally enter your vehicle without a warrant or probable cause. This kids car had neither. It was poor judgment combined with excessive force.

  • Yeah but if he is honest there wouldn't be a problem. And there is no " standard time " for using a taser, only as long as it takes for him/her to go down and for the cop to cuff them. And he didn't " out of nowhere " try to arrest him. He thought the car was stolen. The cop was going on what he thought was right. Are you saying its wrong for a cop to confront a citizen based on info he had? The cop was nice to him at first then he got aggressive because the kid was acting suspicious so right then and there he had probable cause to search the car. You do not need a search warrant for probable cause.

  • He tased the kid for 20 seconds. Cops are trained to only deploy for 5 seconds.

  • The uploader. It has quotes from the court case as well as names of the officers and such so you could google it based on the information in the discription.

  • Yeah but I'll bet he pulled that protocol out of his ass because that part wasn't a quote he said that.

I just did and I read it and it does not specify an allotted time for a taser like I said they are to use a taser until they go down and they can use the reserve charges

  • The standard is 5 and he did it for 10. Thats part of how he was convicted.

  • I'm calling bull shit because he was tried on excessive force. In quotes it says " ...excessive force..." Not "he did it longer than protocol which states 5 sec..." That is not specified any where in the description.

  • That is excessive force. He exceeded the standard amount of time they're supposed to tase people.

  • Bull! It says it was too much for a teen not an adult the cop probably thought he was old enough to take a full charge and I'll bet if he would have did it for like 2 sec the idiot in the car would have become violent and so the cop was in his rights. When I saw the video I thought the teen in the car was in his mid 20s. Its not like you have a lot of time to decide age in a situation like that. It says at the bottom of the description that it would not have been a problem if the kid were in his 20s.

  • A court of law ruled otherwise.

  • Doesn't mean there right! The kid was guilty the cop fixed the problem with what he thought was necessary and it wouldn't have been a problem if the kid was older because then the kid would not have gotten brain damage and went into a coma.
