I've been considering using them but I don't think they seem like they'll compete well in the crucible.
How do these low rof autos perform? Are the top tier? Decent? Or just bad?
If they are decent, what are the perk choices I should be on the lookout for?

I love my Antipodal Hindsight and Hackon's Hatchet. Been getting a lot of Red Spectre's with rangefinder and counterbalance as well. I like them. The doctrine isn't what it used to be.
-
Buy the Suros ARI-45 and hope to get Perfect Balance, Counterbalance, and Rifled Barrel
-
1 ReplyThey're about as useful as Hawkmoon now.
It's ok Hawkmoon, I can't fly either. (Don't tell him about planes)
-
It's tough to get the right combination of range and stability, but if/when you do, they are nasty if you can stick those head shots. They do good cleanup work.
-
Suros regime with focused fire it does work
-
2 RepliesImagine the perk full auto on the doctorine.
-
this is my take for I have DoP with the right perks, a Paleo with awesome perks (rangefinder/ counter bal), Hatchett from th IB not this past but the one before and Shadow price with crowd control/ grenader and 3/4 stability/ ores. There all good on the right map at the right range. I find though that the slower RoF can't handle close quarters engagements as well as the Doc but handle farther distance (just under scout range) better. as much as I like the shadow which I just got, I feel the faster RoF handle more situations better for I enjoy close qtr combat. My shadow for me is for PvE, also have the Grim and the queens one. If your going to sit back and see them coming than the shadow/grim is the one to go with.
-
2 RepliesTiger, where was this Originally?
-
It depends on how slow. If we're talking like lowest rof possible archetype wouldn't recommend but mid rof works fine.
-
I have a Grim with perfect Balance - Counter Balance - Crowd Control, it's REALLY good, it's TTK isn't the quickest but if you're patient with it it'll melt in most engagements at medium range.
-
Got 25 Killstreak with my god roll Grim Citizen ( Spray n play , rifled barrel , counterbalance , oas )
-
Look at my shadow price on my warlock. It's my go to
-
I like the HRoF autos; grim citizen, zhalo supercell. Too bad they got nerfed a bit because of all the whining.
-
2 RepliesThey perform their best when dismantled. Their heyday ended a year ago. Seriously, don't use them. A lot of hipsters try to decry the meta weapons with anecdotal evidence of their "underrated" and "under-the-radar" guns "melting", "destroying" and "never losing in a 1v1", but all you have to do is check their KDR to know that they're full of crap. IMO, check out the Destiny crucible subreddit if you want proper advice.

1 ReplyEdited by JackOfSpades835: 7/7/2016 3:42:13 AMI use An Answering Chord. It keeps up with the likes of Doctrine after the "first" nerf to High RoF autos. Haven't seen many Doctrine after the most recent nerf. Like most primary weapons it will win of you get the drop on someone. If they get the drop on you it comes down to how well you can hit those head shots. My perks are Counterbalance, Handlaid stock and Perfect balance. They work for me. Smallbore may be better than Handlaid stock so you don't lose range BUT handlaid stock has given me OP stability. Her Memory from CoE and Does Not Bow from the Shadow Thief strike have the same base stats.. and maybe red spectre from crucible but ill have to check mine to be sure so don't quote me on that. Edit: Grim Citizen III and Suros ARI-45 are of the same archetype as all of the above. I have them all except the Suros. I don't use them because of the perks.

1 ReplyPlayed a few hours clash with my new Grim Citizen and it was doing great. Melted guardians for fun. I have it on my hunter if you want to check it.
-
Don't even know what's broken anymore
-
5 RepliesYou need God rolls (Like my Grim Citizen) But once you master that gun they are amazing. I can take on any pulse rifle AT RANGE with my Grim. Doctrine is good close in but useless at long range. Low rate of fires are good at both. Just can't miss too many shots.
-
I've been killed with a few but I haven't had much luck with them myself. If I use an auto rifle I usually use one with 88 rate of fire like Haakon's Hatchet or Monte Carlo.
-
Go buy the new monarchy AR and you'll be fine :)
-
Check out the auto on my hunter. It isn't a top tier gun by any means, but it makes an excellent janitor gun.
-
20 RepliesNot really.... 27 a head shot isn't powerful enough to beat the medium rate of fire ones at 20 in the same time.
my numbers are wrong but you get my point ;)
-
I love low RoF autos with focused fire on them. Suros regime, while not having the fastest TTK, is like a fast firing scout rifle.
-
10 RepliesIt depends on your playstyle. If you want to use one, stay midranged. Don't risk up close since you'll get outshot. They're excellent for picking off targets as they move and aren't usually what I'd consider run-and-gun weapons. If your playstyle is more akin to playing it a bit safer without hanging too far back (support role, backup, someone who fights with others, etc) then go for it.
-
For my skill level the answer is no. For good players probably any gun can be useable. The quickest TTK guns are what work the best for me. The HROF pulse rifles like Hawksaw and Grasp are my favourites now that Doctrine and Soulstealers are less effective.

4 RepliesAnything with focused fire 👎🏻 My Grim Citizen III on the other hand is a boss in its own Red dot OAS Crowd Control Rifled Barrel Counterbalance
